OT: Nova @ The Hall Saturday: over 17k tix sold

RU fans helped sellout the game vs SHU @ Prudential Center in December.
I'd say about 25% of the 10,400 crowd was in Red.

It was a very good college hoops atmosphere with the filled seats, vocal RU contingent and of course SHU fans got loud when they took the game over late in the 2nd half.
Recruits at the game commented on the good crowd vibe.

Back in December, SHU decided to lift the curtains for the Nova game, which is this Saturday at 12:30.

The 100-level mezzanine seats (baseline to baseline) sold out quickly.
They then opened up the 200 level seats (baseline to baseline) and most of them are sold as well aside from the far corners.

Last week, SHU decided to open up the 100-level balcony seats (behind the SHU student section).

Over 17,500 tickets have been sold so far, capacity is around 18,500 if they opened up both balconies and them out.

A lot of Hall fans think that the 100 & 200 levels will be heavily pro-Nova fans.
SHU will gross a lot of money this Saturday for their athletic program, but, do you guys/gals think it is worth it to roll the dice with losing a home court advantage?

*Game is also on Fox-5 national tv if you're interested in seeing who's louder, SHU or Nova fans.

SHU fans will still have the numbers...10-11K to 6-7K probably so it all comes down to if SHU is competitive or has a lead as to who is louder

Sometimes having 25-30% opposing fans actually helps home court advantage. Definitely gets the 70-75% fans in to the game more.

When the numbers start in tilting more there can be a problem.

There are a TON of Nova fans in the NYC/North Jersey area... A LOT.

Being they just won the national championship and are still top 3 team, I think they are going to show up big time at Prudential.

SHU has a good fanbase there as well. I was pleasantly surprised when I went for the RU-SHU game. It helps that they won the Big East last year and have been a tournament team/bubble team for a few years running now.

Remember when they were as bad as we were not all that long ago?

I would expect 5-6,000 Nova people in attendance.
