The 11 high danger chances Florida had is a good amount, but what gave the sense of the Rangers being bombarded was the volume of lesser chances.

Never really paid much attention to money ball stuff. Was it about analytics & it being said that analytics allowed the A's to win? I think this analytics stuff in baseball is a crock. Take it that you do as well.
Funny, many of the hockey analytics people agree with you and overvalue teams like Carolina (and Florida yesterday) who have a lot of possession and shots regardless of how good the scoring chances are, but they undervalue how good goaltending can handle those types of scoring chances. That is why the most analytics people usually don’t rate the Rangers highly.

Agree that analytics has it wrong with goaltending. Carolina is very analytics oriented, and their analytics told them that the goaltending was less important than shoring up other areas on the team. Maybe its less important to have elite goaltending in a long season against a variety of good, average, and poor teams. But in a short series against other elite teams, you better have good goaltending, or you are going to fall behind and find yourself playing golf early.
Well let’s not discount the fact we were up 4-2 (without a PP goal) going in to the 3rd. Can’t just count the third .
If the Rangers make the final and end up playing Dallas, that big goaltending advantage goes away. Oettinger is really good.
I wish I didn’t realize he was playing, but most of the time there is a giveaway he is the one doing it.

The Rangers didn’t have a bunch of no-shows in that Devils series like they have going here.
Laf is not a superstar. He’s having a terrific playoff however a 57 point season this year ( his highest to date in 4 seasons) is far from anointing someone a superstar.
The Rangers have only given up one goal in the last three games when Trouba was not on the ice. Our first line doesn’t give us fourth line scoring at 5v5 and is now becoming a liability on defense.
