OT: Official 2022 NY Mets Season And Post Season Thread

Am I the only person who feels the schedule for the Mets is stacked with the good teams all in a row? Atlanta's schedule is more manageable compared to the Mets. Atlanta's worst stretch is a 7 (home series) against the Dodgers and Giants. The rest of Atlanta's June schedule consists of Oakland, Cubs, Pittsburgh, Washington, and Philly. Meanwhile, the Mets just finished a series with the Dodgers and now move onto San Diego, followed by the Angels. Wait, it gets better. When the Mets come home, they face Milwaukee and pesky Miami for four games. Then travel to Houston, followed by a trip to Miami for three more. The Mets end June with a two-game home set against Houston.

I like the Mets' schedule from mid-August to the end of the season. It looks like Atlanta's June schedule. 😁
That is why this month is so important. If we get through it in decent shape, in the last three months we have one series with LA, one series with SD, both at home and one with Milwaukee away. Also the Yanks home and away. After that we get the dregs of the AL West, TX and OAK, as well 21 against the Cubs, Pirates and Reds. If we come out June around where our lead is now we will be tough to catch.

Williams has been exactly what Mets needed
He may be called upon to be a second starter/long man when tylor Jake and max return. All will be on pitch counts so Williams will need to team up with a starter. Do you go to a6 man rotation ? Skip starts ?? Have Peterson ready the day max pitches and Williams the day Jake pitches ?? Are there enough roster spots to do that ??

Need Nimmo back on track after injury
Escobar just a little more
JD starting to hit line drives every game
Nido at 250 , take it now , where do I sign .

Lindor set the tone with his HR in 3rd game
Pete is on mvp pace
Marte in middle of many rallies
McNeil & Guillorme 6-7 7-8 vs RHP is ridiculously good

Some would say that when the year started, our early season against Phils and Atl were stacked against the best.

Davis on first, Alonso DH.

There is a belief that Alonso has made great strides defensively, but the stats do not bear that out. Among NL first basemen, he is third in errors and last in defensive runs saved.

Was just watching the SNY show where the talking heads were debating if Pete is becoming the greatest Mets position player ever. LOL.

I would have to argue that has to be David Wright. Piazza and Strawberry follow him up. Alonso has a chance to become number 1 but he has another 10 years to stay on the path.

Hope you boys don’t mind me hanging out here for the next couple days.

Hi. Are the outfield fences 600 feet at this park, or is there a hurricane force wind blowing in to the outfield? Seems nothing is leaving the park?
Since Tatis seems to be out until after the all star break, they rezoned the wall to be 100 extra feet.

Honestly not sure what’s up with tonight, LF is usually the HR spot aside from the short porch in right

Despite your comments on Snell, Mets have had a way of wearing down starters. This team has a different feel to it than the team of the past few years. It's nice to have a seasoned pro as a manager. Glad the Mets do not play in the NL West, which is a high quality division.

No I totally agree with you.

I’ve been paying attention to the Mets a lot this year as I think they’re a legit post season threat.

Our issue is we just have a young superstar who is still a kid at heart. I have a feeling he’s not really taking the recovery process all that serious.

I will say though, with Musgrove on the mound I don’t think anyone can beat the Padres. I also really really like Mackenzie Gore, it’ll be interesting to see what the front office does with him.

Padres catcher is a stud. Reminds me a bit of a faster Mike Piazza. Great hair too.
Mets announcers saying that Hosmer started his career on fire but has not done much lately. Nice wife though-

Hahaha she’s a Villanova girl, I know a couple people that know her.

Alfaro splits time with Austin Nola behind home plate.

Hosmer and Manny had the hottest starts in MLB, but yeah Hosmer has cooled off a bit.

And there’s that HR you guys wanted 🤦🏼‍♂️

The audio stream was so far ahead of the video on the SNY app that it was spoiling watching it. So Ive watched from the bottom of the 1st on MLB Network where theyv done a alternate type of broadcast with CC Sabathia, Yonder Alonso and Cliff Floyd kicking it live in studio. Been kind of cool.

SNY app has been a big pile of💩💩💩 all year. I wish the MLB App allowed in Market games but MLB is a special kind of stupid most of the time.

How you guys feeling about the game tonight?

Yu is either un-hittable or he’s working out of jams all night. How do you guys feel about Walker?

I know Padres will get at least 1 game here, just not sure if it’ll be Manaea or Yu to make it happen.

I believe we now have the best record in the NL over the Dodgers.
I believe it is time for us to be the team to fear. And all without 2 of the top 5 starters in baseball.
Doyers*

And you guys are playing the NL West champs this week, forget about LA 😃

Walker can be hit or miss, but the miss days maybe were when he was injured.

It is interesting as I now look at our current roster. Outside of a couple of MR guys, there really isn't anyone that could now call a disappointment.
Alonso at a MVP pace. Lindor/Marte/Nimmo/McNeil/Canha all at 1st or 2nd team AS paces. Escobar is now on pace for his usual season, Davis has come on strong at DH, LG- well, what can you say bad about him and even Nido at C is hitting respectable.
As an opposing pitcher or defense, I don't know if there is a solid gameplan you can have against these guys.

The Pads should be favored tonite. Darvish is a top flight starter. Hope the Mets can try to make him throw a ton of pitches as they did last night and get into the pen.

McNeil
Guillorme
Nido hitting 250 ish

If That’s your 7-8-9 vs a RHP
Mets R always the team that should be favored !!!

Add JD back to 280 and line drives all over the field.
Escobar 265 and 25

F everyone else

Let’s 👏
