OT: Post different types of beer you've tried, and how it was.

See ...I was quite justified in busting your balls after all. Unspoken apology understood : )

Is Amstel an option? Always liked that better than mich ultra when I was looking for something light and low-cal.
[sick]

Dutch beer gets no love these days. Amstel and Heineken were an integral part of my college and post-college experience.

Best fresh beer I ever had.. top of the Heineken brewery in Amsterdam... and on that trip I had various monastery beers through Belgium and Germany as well as the big bierhauses in Munchen. A weissbier with an orange slice at some moutnaintop spot (think German hotdog stand selling brats) was a very close second.. have no idea if it had a name.. so many beers there are just named for the town you are in... hard to remember now.. probably Mahrberg or Fulda.

I'll 2nd the Heineken brewery in Amsterdam. $1 for the tour followed by all the fresh Heineken you can drink in 45 minutes. I think our tour was 11 am. What a morning!

Has anyone gotten 17 Weyerbacher Sunday Mole Stout by any chance yet? I'm getting some for the OSU tailgate.
I'd also add that you're better off getting Stone Xocoveza, as it was better for a lesser expensive craft beer.

Is the brewery in the heart of the city? Was in Amsterdam a couple weeks ago ...but only for about 3 hours of layover. Sounds like that would have been a good way to spend it!

Did try a local microbrew on tap that I've never seen. Not a bad tripel, but not really my style. Probably should have tried the IPA just to see what a Dutch IPA is like, but was time to go.

German beer (bier) still my favorite. Austria also quietly has some nice beers.

Great beer story GOR. I've been on a few beer tours in Europe, mostly France, Germany, Switzerland and Italy that incld large beer festivals. Some great experiences enjoying Brews from there. Two of my favorites were from Normandy, France and Italy.

Drinking an Alpine Duet. Excellent, well-balanced IPA.

I was able to pick up a few in Buy Rite in Fairview NJ when I was passing through the area. They actually have a very good selection.

We had a non traditional Pumking vert at our tailgate ('13 Pumking, '16 Pumking, '17 Pumking, plus the '17 Rum BA Pumking). Also had Rogue Dead N' Dead (BA Dead Guy), '16 PumpKYn and '17 Rumpkin. '17 Sunday Mole was good but not great BTW. I bet '17 Xocoveza beats it handily and it's nowhere near Prairie Bomb or Kane Mexican Brunch.

didn't make it to the brewery but had plenty in Amsterdam. it tastes so much better over there. no skunk smell.

My favorite was the Heinekin Oud Bruin. i wish they sold it here.

I see our little PUS Tor troll struck even in here. Well, here's to you:

Lancaster Brewing Company Milk Stout, or Shoo Fly Pie Ale if you want something sweeter, or almost anything from the Victory Brewing Company. My favorite is Hop Devil IPA.

I have Prairie Bomb and Prairie Pe-Kan ready to go for the Purdue tailgate. I am also planning on bringing Stillwater On Fleek, a 13% Imperial Stout, and am sampling a Stillwater collab with Dugges Bryggeri from Sweden. If it passes my standards it'll be on my tailgate vs Purdue.

I'm like the Gordon Ramsay of craft beer in that I'm the personal guinea pig for the tailgate. The beers I try have to pass my standards before I bring them to my tailgate. Every beer I bring I try beforehand.

PeKan was their weakest beer that I've tried & I wouldn't buy it again. Wish I could get my hands on prairie apple brandy barrel noir. I just picked up the Dugges/Stillwater cocoa cacao at Wegman's.

And sometimes it tires you out so much where a nap is needed on a Saturday afternoon [winking]

That's the one I grabbed at Bella Vista today in Philly. Also on my radar are 2 Mikkeller Imperial Stouts...the Black Hole and their Black Imperial Stout. Prairie Apple Brandy Barrel Noir was the smoothest beer I think I've ever imbibed. Found that on my birthday back in July.

That Dugges/Stillwater Cocoa Cacao is an explosion of semisweet chocolate flavor. Very tasty yet almost too sweet. A few months of aging and I bet it'd be fantastic. Also good news is that 17 Abraxas will be hitting shelves in mid November. The Perennial Brewery in STL is having their Abraxas Week starting October 31st. They are bottling both Abraxas and Vanilla Abraxas. Hoping the Vanilla Abraxas will be distro'd and isn't only a brewery only release. BBA Abraxas is arguably one of the best Imperial Stouts ever made. I know for a fact that's brewery only...someday I'll get to drink that jet black elixir.

NJ beer fans will be pleased to know that 2SP Brewery from PA will start distribution here. These guys are legit...Delco Lager is their best selling beer.

I'll have to try the Dugges. Where do you buy Abraxas? Bolero Snort On the Range was good. Easily the best from BS as I didn't care for others I've tried.

Just had the Wedge Brewing Marzen last night. It just won the gold medal at GABF last weekend. While I do not drink a lot of this style anymore, I do have to say I enjoyed it.

I am drinking Clown Shoes Exorcism At Sunset tonight. It's glorious...Bourbon Barrel Flavor is very profound, very sweet taste, 12.5% ABV is disguised well. Definitely will be in my tailgate for the Purdue game.

Picked up Stone Enjoy By 10.31.17 and Stone Vengeful Spirit IPA the other day. Both are very good the Vengeful Spirit is a new release from them
