OT: Post different types of beer you've tried, and how it was.

Equilibrium Almond Pop was ok. Very overrated and tastes nothing like the good humor toasted almond ice cream bar that it was going for. Mostly just sweet vanilla cake mix with maybe an almond extract flavor...

We grew up eating Toasted Almond bars from that music-playing-magical truck that used to visit the neighborhood. Almond Pop starts with a viscous base you have come to love from EQ Stouts before an adding an absolutely massive amounts of slivered almonds, which were toasted in house at Equilibrium Bonfire. To round out the flavors, we then added Marshmallows, Madagascar Vanilla, Cake Mix, and lactose.
Almond Pop pours a viscous pitch black with a tan head releasing notes of wonderful childhood memory. Toasted almond ice-cream pop and candy birthday cake flavor coats the tongue with the perfect balance of nutty, meets sweet, meets creamy, meets decadence. Like drinking a liquid Toasted Almond bar, the finish is velvety and luxurious.

Excellent:

Nice beer. Great pour.

Hofbrau Oktoberfest hit the wholesaler today. I'll have it in the store Tuesday as I'm off Monday. The beer that it served currently in Germany. Hofbrau doesn't call it a Weisn by name, simply Oktoberfest as they do not make a Marzen style anymore unlike Paulaner which makes a Marzen for export to the US. For the first time in 3 years the Philly region will be getting the 5L mini kegs. But will be limited. So get them early folks. Also for the first time in years as well available Paulaner the stein/ big can gift set of the Weisen in the Philly area as well. This will be extremely limited as of now only one pallet of 70 cases is coming to the Philly area 5 counties. I have been allocated 2 cases, 10 units. If any are not allocated and available than I can dive in again tomorrow. They are currently clearing customs in NYC.

I’m sure Brauhaus Schmitz will get theirs lol

So I'm drinking a beer I haven't had in years. I stopped drinking/bringing it in simply as they took for ever to put their beers in cans. In the Philly region if you are not canning your IPAs it isn't purchased at all with one exception. 60 minute. I am enjoying a beer that was the West Coast standard for single IPAs and was huge on the East Coast when you could get it. Bear Republic Racer 5 is now available in PA in 4 pack 16oz cans. Like seeing an old friend. As solid as it gets!

Paulaner and Hofbrau Munchen Gold are two of my good to German biers.
Will miss the Volkfest this year ..not sure if ever going back.
I would love to go one day for just one day. Opening Day in the Spaten tent to watch the tapping of the first keg. I am always welcome VIP treatment at Hofbrau tents but I hate huge drunk crowds.

Flounder Brewing holds grand opening at new Hillsborough location

The brewery — which is currently located at the Hillsborough Business Park and began as one of the smallest breweries to open in New Jersey — will soon be operating out of a 250-year-old Dutch barn and 125-year-old English barn off of Amwell Road.

The brewery will join Bellemara Distillery, a new distillery which will make its first home at Carriage Farm. The distillery, founded by a Navy veteran with name derived from a French and Scottish Gaelic origin meaning "beauty of the sea," will specialize in malt whiskey and also will produce bourbon, gin, and seasonal specialties made with locally grown ingredients.

Not t

Not the Fruh. Not available in eastern PA. Did get in the 5L Hofbrau Oktoberfest! The first store in the Philly 5 counties to get it!!

Total Wine in our area is getting the Hofbrau Oktoberfest next week. I’d like to try the 5L version if possible.

Also looking to buy some Paulaner Weizn as well. Loved it last year. This is a great time of year for those that like authentic German beers.

So the only thing Pailaner wise that will be available next week here will be the 6 pack Marzen bottles. Marzen kegs and the Wiesn stein gift set.

Nice but these beer prices are getting crazy now.
I had “C” from them before and it was good
The way I look at it is I would pay even more if I bought this it at a bar, plus in a bar I can't walk around in my underwear like I'm going now at home, so its a win win.

Do they still brew Red Dog or Red Wolf beer?

People also ask

Is Red Wolf beer still made?

Red Wolf. This beer is no longer being produced by the brewery.

People also ask

Do they still make Red Dog beer?

Although popular during the mid-to-late 1990s, Red Dog faded into near-obscurity after the turn of the 21st century. Since 2005, it has been returning to stores in a current price segment between Miller High Life and Milwaukee's Best.

Just picked up some Hofbrau Oktoberfest here in FL. Haven’t seen the Paulaner Wiesn Oktoberfest yet. Would like to compare the two.

For some reason the Paulaner didn't clear customs normally time wise. Was supposed to arrive Monday in Philly so I could get it Wednesday. Nothing. Wasn't available for today's delivery either. The kegs are in so had it at Frankford Hall, a German bier garden in Philly. They are very similar but there is a difference. Each brewery uses their own yeast strain. Both are great.

Walked into the liquor store and I saw this, a new Double IPA by Industry Arts and I grabbed it because Industrial Arts hardly makes new beer, for example at the moment on Untapped, Kane Brewing has 529 beers, this is IA's 14th beer.

And its damn good.

Yes but it hasn't been a retail beer as far as I know. Certainly not in PA. Terrific. Another I love is the Capt May Double IPA. So good. Had it at the brewery. Did go retail last year but sold in days.
No, it was just released once in 2017.

Just an update on the current reopening status of FL micro breweries and bars, now rumored to be delayed another 6 months. In a recent survey about 100 of the 320 existing FL micro breweries predicted going out of business if they couldn’t open their tap rooms and retail accounts in August. Now we are looking at reopening in Jan/Feb 2021? If so it will likely decimate the craft brewing industry here.

The prediction was made Friday by the head of Florida's regulatory agency for bars and restaurants during a meeting with craft brewers in Vero Beach,

There is a way around the delayed opening if breweries and bars are willing to change their state licenses to also offer food. Some have taken advantage of this loophole, while others are too broke to invest in the kitchen needed to serve food. If I was a bar or brewery owner I’d buy a hot dog griller and offer charcuterie to get the doors reopened. But some of these businesses are financially unable to make the upgrades. It will be very bloody for anyone without deep pockets here in the bar and brewery businesses.

Have any of them moved more aggressively to delivery? The breweries did that here, but it may be more challenging in a larger state.
