OT: Prime Time will crash and burn

Primes biggest downfall might be that he can’t grasp how his guys can’t back it up to his level

Shadeur & Hunter are legit though
But Deion was a generational talent

He could talk bc he backed it up every week - an all time great cover corner, GOAT in my biased opinion

Most guys can’t do that - and they need to realize when they do it, and can’t back it up, the hens come home to roost

I like Prime and Colorado is a great story. That said I thought this past week it went way too far with the distractions and it looked like it hurt the team. I think Colorado will still win 10+ this year but I’ll be surprised if they survive the next two weeks
Can you show me the path to 10 wins? I’m thinking more like 7-5

Stanford, ASU, Arizona are winnable.

USC, UCLA, WSU, Oregon State, Utah are going to be challenging to very difficult.

So 6-7 wins seems possible and would be a significant achievement in year 1.

I've said it before, I think there's a line between unharnessed emotion which can be dangerous and harnessed emotion can be powerful. I think they dance around that line quite a bit. They have small handful of players but they still don't have the "dogs" yet.

Got a kick out of that Yoda meme in the replies of the barstool tweet lol.

You can’t sustain this type of bravado
We saw it w Rex Ryan w the jets

My guess is hel be at CU for 3-5 years, build them up, gradually cool it w the antics, then move on to bigger ventures

definitely not the GOAT when Dave Brown runs you over and you shy away from tackling for an entire career. One of the greatest cover guys for sure but you take him over Rod? not in a million years

Agreed with the 6-7 wins prediction. They will beat the teams that they’re supposed to beat with house money vs the others.

Oregon was a top 10 for a reason. Same thing with USC, and I still think the Shaduer vs Caleb matchup is still intriguing.

I still think Deion has done a great job in Year One and he did it with his media exposure, support from Colorado admin, and the NIL money. Also helps that he has pretty good on his staff as well (which I really hope Warren Sapp isn’t part of it next season).

Unfortunately for Rutgers, they get the bare minimum help from the state, the local media, donations, and NIL donations. His rebuild has been slow and methodical because of this as well as questionable coaching hires. Now he his staff is pretty good as well on both sides of the ball this year, esp OLine Coach. Still have some of his prints on offensive playcalls (screen on 4th and 2?). But the feeling here is a hell of lot better after dropping to 3-1 this year than last year.

There’s more than one way to skin a cat. Just got to see what you have available to be able to.

Cover wise I think it’s him and Revis 1 and 1A
His game wasn’t physical - definutely shied away from contact
But he disrupted entire offenses on his own with his coverage skills
Throw in his punt / KO returns and ability to play WR and all around I think he’s definitely top 5
Also, his longevity and not fully concentrating on 1 sport is pretty incredible

Mike Haynes was better than both of them.

I think Darrell Green and Mike Haynes were better. Haynes added a level of physicality Sanders did not have.

Sounds about right, but he's created excitement around his program and turned around a bad program. Any time another coach turns a program around faster than Schiano he gets attacked on here.

Revis isn't close to Deion, Dieon may be the best cover buy ever. While I like Revis and wanted Pittsburgh to draft him, he's behind Deion, R Woodson, Blount, and with the company Green and Lane of this I've zero doubt. Still awesome for sure to even be in that group

two guys that don't get enough credit either are willie williams and Chris Dishman

those guys were literally white on rice

Revis when healthy was as dominant as I’ve ever seen

Woodson was also tremendous

If my life depended on it though, I’d take Deion in a matchup against anyone

I like Deion
Prime, not so much
One thing I’ve learned though is to never net against him

He's injected excitement into a team that was struggling and a sport that's way too fossilized where we hear the same hype every year about the same d*mn teams. To me that's a breath of fresh air. If it turns out to be hype at least it's not the usual hype about the usual teams, Alabama, Clemson, Georgia and Ohio State.

I agree
Guys like him are good for the game
He’s just got to know when to tone it down

Guess I'm old school with a long memory. The late Tim McCarver said some negative things about Deion playing MLB and then NFL at the same time.

Deion Sanders didn't have to agree with McCarver's statements but the answer was not to seek him out in the locker room, take a bucket (actually buckets) of ice water and throw them at McCarver. It's not celebratory, it's revenge from an immature man who happens to play sports well.

Only three players have 100 rank on Madden Jerry Rice, Barry Sanders and Deion (who was mostly defense).

Shedeur is still listed as #2 QB in NCAA stat wise: 1,410 yds; 77% completes; 11 TDs and 1 INT.
Penix of Wash is #1

Prime was very kind to his players - he's not a cuss and stomper - but he did say the players and coaches were "hot garbage" last Sat, and he refused to highlight the player caliber differences. In truth they did look awful - Travis Hunter aside. I don't expect they will beat USC but I think a better team will show up. They were getting carried away after 3-0 and GameDay circus

“Study… Prepare…”

Something that Deion is trying to get his players to do. What ANY Coach want their kids to do.

Belichick uses quizzes to test players knowledge of an opponent.
I remember from playing that a lot of coaches like to talk fast as a kind of showing-off of knowledge.

Coach Buggernutz : "You have to bla bla bla to rah rah rah and keep the ha ha ha contained in the cha cha cha - everybody got that?"

Players "Yes sir!"

But some guys missed it and cant say so because Coach Buggernutz will give a fessing-up player the stink eye.
