OT: Prime Time will crash and burn

This will go down as an All Time bad take…
Still think this is an All Time bad take? You may argue that I shouldn’t root against Sanders, but you cannot argue that he’s not succeeding like everyone said he would. His program is exactly the hot mess I said it would be. His over the top act is already wearing thin. It’s was a matter of time.

Without a doubt.

Let me ask you a question, what can you tell me about Colorado football prior to 2023 without a google search?

That’s the point. He took a nothing program and has turned them into a national brand, Rome wasn’t built in a day and he inherited a roster that went 1-11 prior to his arrival.

Our fanbase gave Schiano 5+ years to fix the mess Ash left but yet expect Prime to fix everything by year 2?! K

Will be interesting to see how things change/ Deon changes after he’s not coaching his kid to be a 1st/2nd day pick.

It feels a bit like daddy ball at this point…

Did he fix everything? Can you see a product being built to be able to sustain?

I think he will be gone right after Shaduer, Shilo, and Travis Hunter leaves for the draft.

Rashaan Salaan and Colorado football is terrible. Nothing has changed

Disappointed in Prime, thought he’d have the locker room rocking but it’s a disaster. Too busy daddying out, and not in the good way.

I can't believe that at this point- there is still anyone arguing that Prime is a plus over Greg. Dude brought in cash and eyeballs to Colorado- he made some splashes with signings. But everything else is a complete disaster. It is a house of cards waiting to fall and he is not leaving anything for the next coach to build on.

I think I can tell you a little about Colorado football prior to 2003. 😁 😁😁

From the mid 1980s to the early 2000s Colorado, along with Florida State, finished in the top 25 more than any other school during that time. During that time, they won a national championship. Also, CU played for the Pac 12 championship in 2018 and last had a winning season in 2020. They went bowling that season. Like Rutgers the myth about the lack of success is built around two coaches that changed the narrative of the program. That was Karl Dorrell and my boy Jon Embree. They are equal to Terry Shea and Chris Ash. I'm talking scorched earth policy. Mike McIntyre is equal to Kyle Flood. Bottom line, the support of the program is equal to that of Rutgers, but the difference is CU win more often over the last 30+ years. And the media doesn't dog them like the Star-Liar at every chance.

Mr. Embree has had a fine career since he "chose" to leave Colorado:

On Par with Chris Ash's career:

Deion and son like to push the bus over others ( OL /RBs) instead of sharing the blame along with those they put the blame on.
Not a good way to show leadership !

There’s interest because it is a clown show. I called it exactly as it is playing out. He will be gone before he finishes a fourth season.

Everything has always been about him (and his kids). They isn’t the way you lead young men. He’s a fraud.

Not a Neon Deon hater but Colorado seems to be “Daddy Ball” on steroids.
I think if he stays he will turn it around,
but not by the Buffs being a revolving door.
If he does turns it around it will be the old fashioned way. Can you say developmental program boys and girls?
Hes not really the problem, all those in the media kissing his a## are the problem!

I hate to break this to you but college athletes today weren’t even born in 2003.

No one cares.

They're bowl eligable. We're not.
Well last year was reversed but he’s done solid job getting them there in year 2. I was skeptical at the start of this year that he had improved the team after off the field stuff and looking like they hadn’t fixed the on field issues from last year.

They’ve still got some of the same flaws as last year…running, blocking, holding on to the ball too long etc…but there does look like some at least marginal improvement as the season has gone on. Same for the defense.

They’re in the B12 title hunt by record at the moment but I don’t think they win it. I still think it’s BYU, ISU or KSU who have the real shots.

They have passed us by.
I know you’re saying that sarcastically but people should realize there’s no passed by stuff without proven consistency over some time.

It’s all year to year and more so now with portal and all that. It’s actually a good thing because then you can have hope going into every year. Things can turn positive and negative for that matter.

The B12 preseason had Utah and Ok St at the top and BYU at the bottom and it’s a reverse of that.

Warren Sapp is DL coach this year
Colorado has gone from 63rd to 20th for sacks.
No Howards or Akrons on schedule

They have a new DC this year too on top of the OC change last year. Young guy but forget his name.

You can’t get passed unless you already passed them by 1st 😉

Not only are they winning, they are:

- doing 2 year rebuilds via the portal
- selling out every game (home AND away)
- driving record TV viewership
- appreciating the value of the program in very real ways
- playing exciting games most every week
- building hype around heisman candidates

As I’ve said before, and I will repeat again, whether you like him or not, or agree with his ways, the guy gets results and as a proven track record of winning

He came from nothing and built an empire, and was one of the all-time great in the NFL. I would not bet against him

He is showing this year he can make Colorado a winner after ending last year like a loser.
I knocked Sanders and if I didn't outright claim he couldn't make the Buffs a winner, I sure as heck strongly implied Deion couldn't .
He's proving me wrong.

Sanders has.
As have Indiana and possibly even Sara.
The Contract extensions BS need to stop with a HC Coach who cant’ even make in game adjustments and continues with bone head play calling and prep.

Last year Sanders told his players "I'm almost 60 and don't have time for you to mature!"

At RU its "third year for the mastery" while holding "young" players hands

If players on a D1 team have talent you want to stress them to bring it out - not treat them like a toxic spill ready to happen.
