OT: Prime Time will crash and burn

I’ve been to fortunate to have visited almost every campus on that list. I agree Colorado is high on most lists. My comment is also my opinion based on being there and expectations from my friends that went there (who always describe it as the coolest place ever).

You also happen to have picked the one that ranks it the highest. It gets high rankings mostly because of its setting. The actual campus is nice with buildings that all look the same. When you go into them, a lot are very old and need updates. Student center was very cool. Definitely not a bad place to spend 4 years or more.

I also go to Yale a lot. I love the old/historical city schools but outside of the architecture and occasional green space, think it’s also a little high on the list because it’s Ivy League.

Princeton and Dartmouth well ahead Yale for campus beauty. Middlebury underrated.

The level of bias and hate against Deion is amazing in this thread.
Who knows how he'll do but I think it'll be a fun ride either way lol. I do like the style of offense he's chosen and the OC seems like a solid pick, so we'll see.

The new CU OC, Sean Lewis from Kent State, runs an uptempo offense that will tire out defenses at Boulders 5300 foot elevation. And Shedeur Sanders is a QB who can really throw the ball.

From ESPN:

“As Kent State's head coach and playcaller, Lewis developed a distinct identity -- whiplash tempo, quick snaps and wide-open offenses. His offense is a descendent of the old-school Baylor offense, which helped make devastating tempo vogue in college football more than a decade ago.”

Still more than what Schiano 2.0 has done.
We talked about all these other coaches then they come in here and kick our butts. We talk about PT then he hires and great staff and out recruit us. Funny I have never heard him talk about a 5 year plan or waiting on someone to develop. He is coming and if you aren’t ready Steffens aside😀

True winners don’t talk about rebuilds and development. They win almost immediately.

You have no idea what you are talking about. ESPN recently named him the best cornerback of all time, and it wasn't a close vote.

Oh ESPN said something!!!!11!!1!. Sure they never have an agenda. Never do what's popular but wrong. LOL.

Maybe a pass defense CB, but overall he didn't like contact on run plays and shied away from it. Period. And he's a dick.

Bias? Reach much?

Bias definition- prejudice in favor of or against one thing, person, or group compared with another, usually in a way considered to be unfair.

Yup, it fits here.

ESPN conducted a poll of 50 experts, analysts and reporters, and Deion got 32 votes. He also got 6 votes for best kick returner ever. But I will make sure to let ESPN know that next time you would prefer the poll be conducted with a bunch of know nothing yahoos.

The level of bias and hate against Greg Schiano is amazing in this thread, especially since the thread has NOTHING to do with Greg. @Caliknight can't help himself to just pile on at every chance in every thread not remotely related to Greg Schiano. Weird.
Again, if you don’t have an issue with an OC not being named after months of knowing you need one, while other teams hire entire staffs, that’s on you.

Sorry, that may apply to historically established programs such as USC or programs that can attract many elite prospects without much work. Rutgers does not fit that profile. For those upset with Schiano’s 8 year deal, I call your attention to Rhule’s 8 year contract with Nebraska. It takes 8 years to turn around a former powerhouse that is Neb?

Again, if you had any reading comprehension or memory, you would see I have raised this issue. Try harder, and cry harder.

Rhule has the same agent as Schiano. Once they got Rutgers to agree to such a contract, he leveraged it for Rhule. I always have maintained that Greg has great representation. What they extracted from Rutgers proves it.

Pay attention to you lol? If I stumble on a post, maybe. That’s the best you’ll get so stop whining.

So guy's invested in creating hype created hype. Are you Twelve?

Oh and LOL @ Reporters are experts.

Please just stop with the Dion-NoTackle ass kissing. Cornerbacks should play run support too. Dion didn't

They are not the only HCs getting extended contracts. Again, trying to equate the RU situation with USC or any other established program is folly. I don’t know if GS 2.0 will work out, but he is going to get 5 or 6 years to turn it, unless you or some other well healed person wants to cut a huge check.

Off the top of my head I'd put Darrell Green, Mike Haynes and Mel Blount ahead of him. He covered as well or better than all of them, but all were more complete players.

Yep. Plus none of them were such self promoting me-first players like Dion. Dion's fanboy probably never saw any of those other guys play. I was thinking of Blount and couldn't remember Haynes' name.

But Mel Kiper said Dion was BEST!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Nycru, you're a Cowboys fan right? Be honest.

Anyway I'm done caring. I can't believe I've wasted this many electrons on Dion friggin Sanders.

I agree with that. He's not going anywhere. That's part of what I see as the challenge. I really hope he is able to turn it around but I just don't see the signs of being able to compete at this level. And I still contend if you don't do it by year 4 year, you aren't doing it. Not in this conference. There is just too much competition out there and with the portal and free agency, overhauling a team can be done in a year or two.

I also agree, we aren't that school, which is why I have a hard time believing it will happen. Like I said, I hope it does, but hope isn't a strategy.

A few of these guys keep saying I am harping on us not having an OC. No shit! We don't have an OC.

If you can't get that done quickly in a time when things are moving incredibly fast with the portal, and you have had months to plan it, then what are you getting done.

No, I got a lot better.
The fact is, you can't name a coach that has not coached Michigan, Penn State, or Ohio State in the B1G East that has come in and had IMMEDIATE and sustained success. There is none.

It took Locksley year 4 years to have a winning record at Maryland, and that is largely because Taulia developed into an elite QB this year.

Tom Allen has been treading water at Indiana for years.

Mel Tucker had a flash in the pan year 2, and is back to square one.

Over in the West, Brohm was 4-8/3-6 in year 3, and 2-4/2-4 in year 4.

See Scott Frost too.

Bret Bielema had a nice year 2 at Illinois. He's a solid coach. Let's see if he sustains.

Greg took over a shit show in one of the two toughest divisions in P5 football. If you don't understand that, there is no helping you, and you can continue your Veruca Salt routine kicking and screaming how you want it right now.

And no, I was not happy with the handling of the offense this year. It was terrible. But Ash got a 4th year. We shall see what year 4 brings for Schiano. In the meantime you guys can keep slurping on Prime.

Rhule got an 8 year contract because he is in high demand as a head coach. He is not talking about 5 year rebuilds.

You just named three guys that had it almost immediately.

Schiano is in year 4. Do you really think he's going to do anything? What's your prediction for a record? Just curious.

I'm also curious how long you find it acceptable to not have an OC. What specific date are you willing to say there is an issue?

Slurping Prime lol. Guy is a used car salesman but he's able to build a staff Schiano never could in a week.

Giants fan actually. LT was on the same list as greatest outside LB of all time.

I respect Deion, he was a great player and will be a great coach for Colorado. Has already put together a great staff and is going to kill it with recruits.

Show your work.

For someone you said you did not care about, you know want my opinion on what is acceptable to have or not have an OC? Six to nine months if just fine.

I'm trolling you.
Ideally, the OC should have been in place by now. There's an OC Wish List thread, and I have several posts in there.
Longo would have been a home run and is a NJ guy. But he's gone.

Maybe Greg whiffed on his short list and got turned down, or the short list candidates took other jobs. If that's the case, that could be worrisome or just the way it is. Just like the head coach search 3 years ago, people are not beating down the door to coach at RU.

Maybe they have a guy in place, and they are holding off on the announcement. However, this does not make sense from RU's perspective as they need help from the portal.

So my answer is, it depends, but ideally it should have already happened.

If Colorado has a bowl season in Prime's first year, he will be elected Governor of Colorado. My question is how he handles adversity should the team struggle.
He’ll have a heck of a time supplanting Jared Polis the current governor. This state loves him

Imagine if he only played football? Guy was a MLB player for 10 years

I didn’t like the McCarver incident in the locker room and a lot of the stuff he does I’m not a huge fan of

But he’s a legend - great corner, great return man, above average MLB player, and a tireless self-promoter

There’s no in between with Prime - you either love him or hate him.

For what he did to FSU w Hunter I was pissed, but my appreciation of him and what he did for fsu (and produced in big moments) easily overshadows the NSD situation

Disagree. I'm neutral. Frankly, have not given a thought about him until the announcement of the Colorado gig and his intro press conference, which was funny to me because he punctuated nearly every thought with "I'm coming." I could not car less if he succeeds or fails. It has no impact on me. That's all.
