EV companies? LOL.You mean technoking of Tesla or Master of coin? LOL. You are right that no company has done what TSLA has done with EVs. But there are a lot of companies that are much more profitable than Tesla.

Sorry buddy, you can try to spin all you want. But a CEO pumping a stock split is total clown show.EV companies? LOL.

Tesla is a great company for lots of reasons. One of them is their CEO has a sense of humor and regularly interacts with his customers.Yet, Tesla fans wonder why so many investors think the stock is smoke and mirrors. Name another great company that does or need to do this?
Stick in the mud.Tesla is a great company for lots of reasons. One of them is their CEO has a sense of humor and regularly interacts with his customers.
This is all in the name of FUN! Geez. It could turn out to be absolutely nothing; a series of coincidences. I imagine you're not the life of the party.
Are you aware that you constantly generalize large groups of people?I don’t disagree. Access to info has helped bring people into the Market and that’s not a bad thing, especially when Wall Street no longer has a distinct advantage (at least there is an appearance of equal access). My main point is that the security guard, gym-rats, etc. seem to have this impression that the stock market and asset classes like crypto are simply ways to make a fast buck and not an investment vehicle for long term wealth creation. They hear people are getting rich off BTC so they buy BTC. They hear people are getting rich off GME so they buy GME.

Of course Musk started hinting about a stock split. Tesla was down close to 20% recently as a result of his tax/selling situation so he needed to goose it again, especially with Lucid and Rivian flying high. This goes to show you how incompetent the SEC really is.Sorry buddy, you can try to spin all you want. But a CEO pumping a stock split is total clown show.
Good news for the market, Papa Powell to remain:

Biden picks Jerome Powell to lead the Fed for a second term as the U.S. battles Covid and inflation
President Joe Biden made the announcement Monday morning following weeks of speculation that Fed Governor Lael Brainard could get the spot.www.cnbc.com
It seemed like Biden wanted to pick Brainard for political reasons, even though she was very likeminded with Powell. However, there was enough concern and pushback in the Senate, so he went with the safe option (and in my mind, the correct option).
Agreed! No reason to change, especially since the alternative essentially agrees with Powell on important issues.Refreshing lack of politics in the choice. Volker and Greenspan were both retained even though the party in the White House changed.
It’s one of my newest long positions. I wasn’t thrilled to hear that Chamath sold but I like the CEO, potential growth, and acquisition target potential.Tempted to get back in SOFI.
I bought Microsoft in 1997 at a cost basis of $19.50. It now earns $8.95 income and pays $2.48 dividend per share annually. I think I'll be okay if it drops from $334 to $175. Same thing with NVDA at $20, AAPL at $30 and FB at $40.I've been looking through this thread a little bit, and some of you guys are so adventurous and venturing. You're so comfortable with the fact that you might lose money if your bets or investments don't pan out.

Pretty crazy how close the charts are here.BTW, where are all the C-dub fans at? She’s getting crushed and her 11% Tesla position is the ONLY thing keeping ARKK from plummeting below its ATL. Most of her major positions such as TDOC, ZOOM, Zillow, Roku, etc. have been obliterated. Not a pretty picture.

Be careful, you might be called a “little bear” or “chicken little” by the person that bought in late on ARKK AFTER the big run in 2020, pumped it at the top and gave regular updates on the Fund’s holdings earlier this year. Now he is relatively silent on his girl wonder and the fund. Maybe because it’s down 35% from its high.BTW, where are all the C-dub fans at? LOL - yeah, Mr. ATH apparently has me on ignore. As if anything I say on this message board is intended to create controversy or cause people to lose money. I’m a perma-bull and have been for 20 years. I just happen to be guided by history and FOLM as opposed to spec trends and FOMO.Be careful, you might be called a “little bear” or “chicken little” by the person that bought in late on ARKK AFTER the big run in 2020, pumped it at the top and gave regular updates on the Fund’s holdings earlier this year. Those CBs work for me! Buy and hold at its finest. :)I bought Microsoft in 1997 at a cost basis of $19.50. It now earns $8.95 income and pays $2.48 dividend per share annually. I think I'll be okay if it drops from $334 to $175. Same thing with NVDA at $20, AAPL at $30 and FB at $40.
Little bear comes out to post for a few days and then goes away for a few months. Nice to hear from you! See you again in Feb. :)Be careful, you might be called a “little bear” or “chicken little” by the person that bought in late on ARKK AFTER the big run in 2020, pumped it at the top and gave regular updates on the Fund’s holdings earlier this year. I’ll never be a perma-bull. I strategically sell portions of my overpriced stocks and buy back on the dips. I still have exposure as the economy isn’t broken, but some stock prices are way out of whack, and several have been crushed lately. I am too analytical to blindly hold stocks without assessing the risk. And I have zero FOMO.LOL - yeah, Mr. ATH apparently has me on ignore. Put in a order at 16.8. That’s 30% discount from where I sold. I know nothing about the stock other than someone here said it was a good buy in the teens. It’s one of my newest long positions. I wasn’t thrilled to hear that Chamath sold but I like the CEO, potential growth, and acquisition target potential.
Hoping for 1 more little bear day and the buying will begin. Getting itchy now, but will be patient. SOFI is a good long-term hold prospect.Put in a order at 16.8. That’s 30% discount from where I sold. I know nothing about the stock other than someone here said it was a good buy in the teens.

I don't disagree. My statement was a counterpoint to our resident conspiracy theorist. And if the stock rises, at least until the marginable tax rate hits 100%, his net proceeds increases.

No conspiracy theory. Every single thing Musk does is calculated to produce a desired result. He’s not winging it when he fires off tweets. The guy is scary smart. It may also land him in prison one day, which is why he probably chose now to hire the SEC guy after all these years. Shocked it took this long to bring in that kind of fire-power.I don't disagree. Prison? 😂 You're too much. He's got too much at stake to care about daily stock fluctuations. Tesla is rock solid financially and Musk has more money than god. You just said he's scary smart. He has long term aspirations. Make up your mind, because only an idiot would do what you're suggesting.Be

I was being facetious. But, are you suggesting that rich, successful people never go to prison for doing stupid things?Prison? 😂 You're too much. She is getting killed on her underlying positions. Wait until her investors throw in the towel and we see really aggressive selling. Then it will really get ugly.
But that has always been her thing and it's why her funds performed so well for years.Sort of "if it's worth doing it's worth overdoing." Mental note to look at those funds on late December after all the tax loss selling has happened.
But that has always been her thing and it's why her funds performed so well for years.
Should she have changed course a little given that huge run up? I guess, but owning blue chips is not what she is about.
The "worth doing" part?I'm not talking about her portfolio, I'm talking about people selling.
