OT: Stock and Investment Talk

That’s what I’m hoping, brought some at $3050 but expect lower this week. Sold some at 3,170 and buying back at lower price. AMZN has been at this level since Jul 2020 almost two years.
Can't go wrong buying more. AMZN has a history of quick pumps and long plateaus. Once the Fed gets going with their movements, the market will respond very positively. AMZN, MSFT, GOOGL, AAPL, NVDA, and a few others will lead the way. FB is very undervalued now as well. FB went through the same type of evolutions in 2013 and 2018 and came out successful.

Russia is on the verge of invading Ukraine and people are projecting China will invade Taiwan. The US is now so divided that we wouldn’t get involved militarily in any conflict other than supplying arms. Many on the right are siding with Russia and against NATO or saying not our conflict.
This is simply not true. The Russians annexed Crimea while JB was responsible for Ukraine (remember, gave them blankets?) . Now, they will invade Ukraine while he is president. Many feel that JB wants and needs this as a distraction to divert attention away from his abysmal record.

You blaming Biden for Russia invading, interesting. I blame Russia. You must be on the far right. I was on the BWI politic board to see what the far right are thinking since I don’t have access to CE Board and they are blaming Biden.

The US will no longer tolerate US soldiers in any foreign war.

What I’m saying is that Biden is a bumbling idiot. Is there any doubt why the saber rattling by Russia and China has reached a fever pitch? Doubt this happens with a stronger US leader. I’m about as middle of the road as they come. The majority of Dems that I speak to admit that they have buyers remorse with JB. If you can honestly say you’re happy with the job he’s done as POTUS, you must be on the far left.

Russia was taking Crimea whoever was in office. With Tucker Carlson siding with Russia, why would Republicans help Ukraine? I hear that Russia TV broadcast Tucker Carlson viewpoint for their propaganda. Russia went to war with Georgia and won in 2008 when Bush was in office.

Nope, after the split, when the stock looks "cheaper". Marketing 101.
You're both right:

"Do stocks usually go up after a split?

Some companies regularly split their stock. ... Although the intrinsic value of the stock is not changed by a forward split, investor excitement often drives the stock price up after the split is announced, and sometimes the stock rises further in post-split trading."

We may both be right, but I'm definitely more right. 😜

Plus, they’ve been “invading” Ukraine for 10 years….just not officially

I have not seen or know anything about Tucker Carlson’s position. It’s not relevant here. What’s relevant is the rest of the stated info. JB has been a miserable failure as POTUS, and he’s a joke on the world stage. The US deserves a strong moderate leader that they can rally around, and most Americans would accept that from either party. JB has done nothing but placate the far left, and as such, pissed off most Americans on both sides of the aisle.

CBS and NBC both reporting US intell sources stating Russia command staff was given a "go" to start the invasion.

The US gov really jumped the shark today.....predicting and warning that essentially WWIII is coming. LOL! This is so transparent. Claim the end of the world is coming, so they can try to take credit for Russia not doing anything or just a little.

Sad to see so much crying wolf.

Keep it in context of the market impact. Reality of events. Not political nonsense.

I'm not trying to get political since I'm an independent and have voted for and against both parties over the years but if DT was still President, Russia would have already taken over Ukraine. That is all.

I read the news report and something doesn’t add up. Seems little more than a game of chess. I’d still be shocked if invasion actually takes place. Russian economy would crumble under sanctions.

I really hope you're right on both your third and last sentences.

Bottom line, who cares about Russia and Ukraine? Once again, if it happens, will MSFT need to restate Q1 guidance? LOL.

The market will be fine, so take advantage of this opportunity.

+1
It seems like the US and UK are essentially daring them to invade. Maybe they know this is BS?

Ukraine is a treasure trove of natural resources. This is a money grab for Putin and his boys.

You have lost your marbles.
"From the start of WWII in 1939 until it ended in late 1945, the Dow was up a total of 50%, more than 7% per year. So, during two of the worst wars in modern history, the U.S. stock market was up a combined 115%," wrote Ben Carlson, Director of Institutional Asset Management at Ritholtz Wealth Management, in an article about counterintuitive market outcomes. You do realize "why" ? Unprecedented growth from the all-out effort to feed a "total war," not only to empower the USA but our allies, too. And our opponents then were not nuclear-capable. But, yeah, root for an opportunity to buy the dip. Sheesh.....

It’s like when the NFC wins the super bowl or is it the AFC?

Stop living life so scared. Good grief. I'm not rooting for anything to happens, but I'm also not going to pass up an amazing opportunity is something happens.

The market will tank if there is an invasion which will present buying opportunities. What’s at the top of everyone’s list keeping in mind that just looking at Big tech too narrow.

Will be adding to TQQQ and UPRO. Also adding across the board in our E-Trade brokerage account, which consists of 8 etfs. Big Tech rules the market because it is truly integrated into day to day life.

Still tracking URTY for a small cap play. Small cap valuations are already at a 10 year low.
