right now ny and nj are real shyt shows when it comes to the vaccinations--it's a disgrace that for weeks shots are sitting on a shelf somewhere---and it's a disgrace elsewhere when 23 million dosages distributed nationwide and only about 7 million used
Lmao they are doing better than most other states.

But why are we planning these. They should already be built out. Government is so reactionary

That article is almost a month old. Two of the six are already open. The other four open this week. Granted we don't have enough doses to operate at max capacity. Six sites alone will account for 100,000K doses a week at capacity

What’s the purpose of building the sites if they cannot be used? Probably ain’t free to set these things up. They are setting up the sites as supply dictates.

Murphy has been following the mask up, lockdown, totalitarian government playbook for 9 months. If the vaccine is so important then he should have be pro-active instead of reactive but nothing surprises me with him. His leadership is horrific.

Like 30% of NJ small businesses have gone out of business. You didn’t need to “build” anything. You could have repurposed out of business department stores, movie theaters, etc. freaking Halloween stores have no issue finding places to set up temporary stores but state can’t? How about all the empty buildings on college campuses across the state?

The states were told in August to have their plan ready for November 1st. NJ clearly wasn't and the health commissioner's explanation for not vaccinating people around the holidays was nothing more than a politician lying. I know plenty of people, including my high risk wife, who would have gladly been vaccinated before Christmas and don't know anyone who would have turned it down.

Hahaha. I posted a couple days ago about teachers and students being vaccinated so that schools can open sooner than later.

Today lead nj.com headline:

Vaccinating teachers won’t be enough to fully open all N.J. schools. Here’s why.

it is ridiculous that any infrastructure needs to still be built out right now. They had months and months to plan. And I am sick of hearing about supply constraints when unused supply is sitting on the shelves. Open mass vaccination centers, bring in the National Guard to help with the effort, and make sure that the eligible population is wide enough so that we are not being slowed down by bottlenecks. Nursing homes, etc should still be a priority, but they should not be allowed to be a bottleneck either.

Keep in mind murphy also screwed the pouch and continues to screw the pouch with the reopening of the DMV. He had a few months to prepare for that. How could anyone expect him to get this right. And HE is the man in charge so the buck stops with him. YEA , lets all wish for gov't controlled health care . :flush:

Yet people still keep making excuses.

no they are not. NJ has been giving out vaccines since the middle of December. Judy said back in November that there are 600,000 healthcare workers in the state. so far 216,,000 people have received the vaccine. that's 1/3 of the number of healthcare workers...and I guarantee you not all of those people were healthcare workers. There are people cutting the line. NY and NJ haven't even begun touching the LTC facilities and have only recently started allowing PD/FD/EMT to get vaccinated.

I mean, it's not like Murphy or Cuomo and their health directors had 10 months to come up with a plan that would work efficiently and effectively to distribute vaccines quickly. Cuomo was too busy writing a book during this crisis and Murphy was busy making a plan so the DMV reopening would go smoothly....oh...wait...

from January 7th:

NJ. Com doesn’t know squat. Schools in our town fully open and doing well.

all the private schools have been open, too, without issues.

And Holmdel started back full time last week:

NYC was supposed to open a couple today. With 2 months or more to plan, actually 4 months based on preliminary results, this should have been done quicker. It's not like the spring when there was essentially no advanced notice.
There are more sites open and people don't even know where they are and of course I have heard of doses being wasted; there is no reason they should not be open to 1B at this time at least

I guess you could say he was "formerly" in touch with reality, but it might be debatable.

Which is just dumb since as the thread says “ they knew for months”.

You are right. I always find it’s more useful to board up my windows after the Hurricane.

Judy was also quoted as saying,” we have to trust the people to do the right thing by not jumping ahead in the lines”. In other words people will not be asked for any proof that they are eligible to get the vaccine. Now that is just plain stupid and irresponsible to even believe that is relatively possible in 2021. She is just like leader Murphy.

I recommend you watch the weekly NJ Covid press conferences. Educate yourself instead of making stuff up.
I don’t need to watch their dog and pony show. We see with our own eyes they weren’t prepared. Every county should have had a facility ready to go at 100% before the vaccines shipped. I have a friend who is head of OEM for his town. His facility was up and ready to go more than two weeks before they had vaccines. They are working at 100% capacity and people are in and out in under 20 min.

NJ has a higher percent of its population vaccinated than the majority of states. NY does too. NY has a higher percent of its population vaccinated than your beloved Florida or Texas. I am so sorry that you hate democrats so much but facts are getting in the way of your narrative again.

my "beloved Florida or Texas"?? I don't even know what that means. You must have me confused with someone else.

And I don't hate democrats, nor do I hate republicans or independents. I hate that Phil & Judy had 10 months to formulate a good plan with the NJDOH and the NJ Hospital Association and the NJ Board of Medical Examiners and the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association for the distribution of vaccines and they didn't.

as of January 5th NJ ranked 13th from the bottom in percentage of residents vaccinated. so that would be NOT a higher percentage of population vaccinated than other states.

January 9th "less than 2% of NJ residents vaccinated" That makes us still near the bottom.

NJ has only distributed 33% of the vaccines it has (as I said previously). West Virginia, however, is kicking ass at 72% distributed

You realize like only 15 states today have three percent or higher. Almost all states are somewhere in the 2 percent range with a few in the one percent range and a few in the four percent range. West virginia is the only state in the 5 percent range. NY is one of the 15 states that has 3 percent or higher. Florida which keeps being posted about in this thread by many is not.
