Like our recent #56 ranked class ?
Delusional as usual.
Once we build the talent base, things will be fun. The last two classes will provide the foundation for a fun football team.
Keep dreaming.Rankings are BS and are for people like you to consume. The Ray Rice class was ranked #68, and had future NFLers Rice, Both McCourty’s, and Malast, among others.
Keep dreaming.
Look at the Recruiting rankings of the Top 20 teams over the last 5 years.
The Teams with better recruiting results dominate CFB.
Spin all your fairy dust you want about our class from 15 years ago in the BE.
Under-recruited 2 star and 3 star gems were nice in a weak BE but will never get a program above the bottom of the B1G East.
The point is this class is good enough to move the program forward, as we have a good mix of linemen and skill players who will make an impact at some point .
The ranking of kids is arbitrary and capricious and heavily influenced by who offered the kid. They are for entertainment and are not an indication of potential. I’m not going to worry about some non football professional ranking a kid 2 stars rather than three stars.
The best measure of a class is how many kids got drafted and how many kids contributed.
Our 2014 team finished 9-4, and had mostly 2 and 3 star kids. What happened was talent graduated and wasn’t adequately replenished and developed. This class has talent, but it will require time to be developed. The recruitment and development of mostly two and 3 star kids is the only Avenue we have to improvement. There is no other path available to us. Who wouldn’t prefer a class of highly rated kids. But that’s not where we’re at.
Al the 2014 team had more 4 stars than any team in memory and and 5 star.
Doesn’t matter how badly our last two classes were ranked, Schiano sees talent no one else does. Four straight classes like this and we will be in a National Championship game. LolLike our recent #56 ranked class ?
