Indiana and Minny looked great against formidable competitors last night. LOL. Just remember, only Rutgers has flaws. Don't like to judge a team by their first game, as we learned that against WSU last year. And sure hope if we have a bad opening game, the gloom and doom crowd does not proclaim the season is over.

I think our D will be much improved, we are going to go as far as our offense takes us. I for one can't wait to see the new spread offense in action and how we do. I'm not to worried about winning tomorrow as much as to see if we get better as the game progresses. There is a reason Washington is ranked in top 20 and is favored by more than 3 TD's against us. I'd like to see us keep this within 2 TD"s's, I'll take that against this team.

I agree. We could be 4-8, 8-4, 6-6... just so many unknowns at this point. But as many others have pointed out, I'm not looking at the wins and losses this year. I'm looking at how we compete. I expect to see a tough team fighting for four quarters every game, no matter what. That will make me smile and really get me excited for the future.

@RedSpartan Agreed, looking for improvement and retention of our class next year. That is. Everyone freaks out when someone says we wont win this or that. They act disrespected like we are the upper echelon of CFB. We won 4 games last year, be humble till we prove something.

We will see vast improvements going forward with that being said. Ash is the right man for this ship along with all supplementary staffers.

I don't like Poiliti - he's a gratuitous RU basher. Having said that, I don't think his prediction is illogical and in any event no prognosticator should be criticized until the final results are in showing him/her wrong.

I'm ok with his prediction ...Politi is just being Politi...many of our so called fans are reasoning a 4 win season as well...each year is different...if our D stays healthy
and plays at 20 -25 % better we will win several unexpected games...if the offense improves 20% we will win several more games...we are not winning the division but I
feel this team can right the ship in 2016 .

and we've rarely shown much to warrant anything but that. Let it be and let the team do the talking on the field. I dont like him as much as the next guy, but his guess isnt insane or far off from what a majority of posters have predicted.

Potato head is a good term for Politi. 4 wins is pessimistic, 5-6 wins is possible/likely and 7+ is optimistic. The local beat reporters everywhere else in the country (rightly or wrongly) err on the side of optimistic. Not Mr Potato Head or the SL staff in general. He should add a game or two to his predictions and be a bit more of a cheerleader for the local team.. That's how it is done elsewhere. Who needs a pessimist for a beat reporter? I don't want to read Soviet style propaganda but I do want some home town favoritism.

Anything from 3-9 to 6-6, in my opinion, is a good guess. Anything lower is very pessimistic or very optimistic.

Just saw Politi was 12-0 in his predictions for RU games last year and Sarge was 8-4, so Sarge is more of a homer. Sarge has us winning tomorrow 34-31 and Politi and Dunleavy have us losing, but not by 26.
