I think it's a safe bet that it wasn't about the emails. Speculation on my part, but it's my best guess as I try to make sense of the latest enshrinement into the Cirque-du-Rutgers Hall of Fame.

Perhaps Flood knew in advance. Also, if you've been around fellas who sometimes do wrong, someone shares it with a buddy who shares it with someone else (especially when there are four guys in a group involved), and pretty soon the locker room knows. If both of these things are true, damage control was in full effect and Kyle kept the media out. It might have even altered the way they practiced. It makes sense. Whether it's true or not is speculative, but not far-fetched.
Maybe Flood didn't, but he heard through the grapevine that something was coming down the pike. Some of the players must have been questioned by the police, and a sense that something was gonna happen was realized by the players. Maybe this will come out, maybe not.
The premise makes no sense. 1. Cops don't tip people off on arrests, it makes their job extremely dangerous. 2. If someone did tip off flood, why wouldn't he close practice on the day of the arrests or keep practice closed until the arrests were made? 3. most importantly, if Flood knew a player was going to be charged in a home invasion, do you really think that player would be taking reps with the ones for a game on Saturday? Don't you think he would have the players who are actually going to be on the team this season running with the ones???
