Recruiting Impacts - what will happen if the beat down continues

Why not ask what happens if we win some toss up games and finish 6-6? We were two plays from beating Iowa (convert the 4th and goal, and don't fumble before the game winning score) and sitting at 3-2 even with the ugly score last weekend.

It's been stated multiple times already, but you would have to assume that the commits have been told how this season will play out. So, hopefully, the decommitments will be on the very low end. I have to wonder how the next recruiting class will play out, though. If ash can secure another solid class despite another potential non-bowling season, I think in 2018, we have to make a bowl game or we will see the recruiting start to slip. We're Rutgers, not Alabama. We won't be getting a pass from recruits for too long.

Kids are not stupid. They committed to coming here because this is their best option. If a better option comes along they walk. Anyone in this class who think they could better let them walk.

It's all about perception. Ash, at the minimum, has got to find a way to get "small victories" each week so that at least each game was not as bad as the previous game's performance. Again it's trying to get the very best out of what he has to work with.

This is actually my big fear. the 2017 class is absolutely critical to the success of Ash as a head coach of Rutgers.

You really don't know what is going to happen. But as a previous poster said as long as we keep our 3 four stars plus Lewis the class will be ok.

Ash can talk about culture, attitude, competition and accountability, all he wants.

His football success will be measured in recruiting classes, end of story. If he can't hold this class together, our results will continue to be mediocre at best.

Best option because of the chance for early playing time, or best option because we're their best offer? If it's the latter, that couldn't be anymore false. We have plenty of kids in this class who have multiple offers, and offers from schools who are currently better than us.

I assume Taylor leaves if he gets his Wisco offer but after that I don't expect many others.

I feel like his football success will be measured in wins/losses.

To answer the OP's question, we will lose every recruit and then the program will be shut down for good, so let's hope we can turn this around soon.
