Recruiting

Since the Stoll era and Delbarton becoming a NJ powerhouse what blue chip wrestler has come from Delbarton? In Goodales first year-Melde(and he did not finish at Delbarton) and then Casale who also did not finish at Delbarton and would have gone to Lehigh if accepted. Am I missing someone? Could be, but I cannot think of one.
Hmm coulda sworn we had more Delbarton kids.. you might be right just Melde and Casale.

Cerchio wants to come to Rutgers. Hopefully the parents let him pick his college.
The one thing most of us can't know is what the kid is thinking. Sometimes they are influenced by having friends or even a girlfriend at a school. I know that from my own experience. However, if the parents are funding any amount of the kid's education, they very well should have a say in where the kid goes. I funded three college educations and you can bet that I had a say. I have to believe that most parents want the quality of the education to be paramount, but some (mostly dads) will put an emphasis on wrestling when the kid has the potential for AA or better. When I see schools on a kid's list that include both Ivy (or equivalent schools) and elite wrestling schools, I lose hope that they will choose Rutgers. As a parent myself, I would put the emphasis on education.

We do have two kids ranked who will be enrolling for the 2024-2025 year.. They are Nini ranked # 11 @ 138lb. and Harer ranked # 9 at 152lb. Plus it seems we are in on other highly ranked kids.
Hopefully, they can move up in those rankings. Top 10 in a weight class doesn't move the needle significantly as they enter the collegiate landscape. Consider, the tenth wrestler in a class (counting a redshirt) has 5 yrs of eligibility. Over the five years in college, that means they could sit around #50 if you get my rationale.
I'm not hearing that.
I like these cryptic, insider texts from you Mike. Even better when there is a lean towards RU though.

Did Harer take a recent loss or something? Thought he was ranked 5th in weight and top 25 big board.

No, he was 6th now 9th on Flo rankings. Shapiro, Bouzakis and Henckel moved into the top 10 at 152. Willie Saylor has Harer ranked 3rd at 152. Everyone has their own opinion about rankings.

Heard Knox is a heavy lean Iowa or ivies
Nothing against Knox, but highly doubt Ivies are in the cards. SJV is not an academic powerhouse and he’s way more interested to in wrestling than busting his ass at a school like UPenn. These kids spend so much time in the wrestling room that the books are secondary.

Quite the revisionist history. Cael originally was blocking the in conference transfer. When everyone found out and he was made to look the bad guy only then did he change his mind. The clearing you’re talk about is psu had to OK it. Specifically the psu AD with Cael and then with the conference, they had the option to block it and originally did.
Revisionist history? Suriano did a flo interview years later and speaks about this. They had an issue with penn state not letting him wrestle with the bum ankle , he decides to leave and Penn State didn’t hold him up, the conference did and if Cael didn’t sign off he would’ve lost a year

Oklahoma gains absolutely nothing by blocking a decomittment other than making life difficult for an 18 year old kid. If they don’t release him they send a message to all future recruits - we really don’t give a shit about you
I think they are holding it up so Kish has sometime to talk to these guys and make his own pitch for them to stay , after he makes his attempt they’ll probably release anyone that still wants to leave

You have no idea what you’re talking about. Back then in order to transfer within conference the AD/Coach you are transferring from had to OK it. The conference had no part of this other than to receive the required permission from the AD/Coach.

For a time Cael did not sign off and the transfer was in doubt. It’s why we had a 16 page thread on it with every psu fan here led by the head nimrod “matter”. I know it sucks to hear but your God is human after all.

It was some beef between Willie and a prominent donor from Iowa. Iowa guy being classless and talking shit on a former woman wrestler. Screen shot of Hawkeye report and Willie condemning Iowa fanbase.
I think it also mentioned that he's the 1 pushing for the Ferrari's to Iowa.

I'll take Angelo and Anthony Ferrari.
They are on their visit to Iowa rn… got a bad feeling about this with Chittum out of the picture…

Did Anthony even express interest anywhere else?? Seemed like he was pretty set on iowa.. would have to imagine he’s in Angelo’s ears to join him..

Mitch Moore is also from Oklahoma.. so is Henson and madriagal .. all pretty solid guys
I know, but it seems unlikely we'd get two transfers from Oklahoma at the same weight unless Moore is planning on going back down to 141 or up to 157

Would be shocked if Santaniello didn’t follow his bro to pitt.. out of the guys that’s left I think Henson got highest upside and he’s 133/141… Moore prolly 149/157

SO there is a possibility we could take Oklahoma's 149 and 157 lb'ers and make them 141 and 149 at Rutgers.
That would work for me.

Word at Shore Thing last night was Santaniello to Pitt 😡
