I like your suggestions as it at least allows young guys to play and grow. May as well get something out of this season. But really, this is about as fixable as the Titanic after it hit the ice…….there are no fixes unfortunately.

Noah is a rental and has been given a lot of chances to either show or not show he can play at this level. He is iso ball too which does not help. No need to play him more than 7 mins a game if that.

What worries me the most is
Coaching.

All of the same problems have existed over the years with terrible FT shooting…people standing around doing nothing on offense…missing layups…players out of position on both ends of the court…TERRIBLE inbounds plays.

Thing is in the past those weaknesses were overcome by the players on the court who could produce on either end and masking our inefficiency. This year we just don’t have the players for that as we are playing with majority of role players.

That’s why I want to see lineup changes to play for the future. Clearly Pike is not going to change so getting some of these players in positions to succeed(ie STOP posting cliff up due to lack of entry passes from guards and do more PnR) so at least give the younger guys minutes to develop into game speed

The excitement and potential of next year’s team will be a big factor (along with NIL) in keeping our best players. I fully anticipate Mag, JWill, Gavin, and JMike to come back, while bringing in a graduate center for one year to be a mentor for Lathan, who will play a ton. Add in Ace, Dylan, Grant and Dortch and you have a 10- man roster that will compete with the talent of any opponent.

That team had a need for a shooter. 2024-25 RU is looking for a glue guy that is happy not getting a tom of scoring chances. Desperately need a shutdown perimeter defender.

what are your expectations defensively and offensively? Ace and Dylan havent played a lick of defense in any game i have watched. It is a more a question if they can all of a sudden play with energy an entire game as opposed to half the game.

If defense was 100% of the game we would have been to a Final 4 at least one year. If offense was 100% he would have been fired a few years ago.

I am having a tough time envisioning how this is going to work. This year he tried to talk about this team playing fast and it took all of 1 half to abort.

Is Dylan and Ace going to have to defend the high screen like everyone has at RU? If Gavin is in the lineup now Dylan has to defend a really good player. Who is the point guard?

NBA talent alone isnt winning. Dylan and Ace can score 18PPG each but if they are taking 23 shots each it doesnt matter
