Rutgers is the only B1G team whose shooting percentage is below 40%, currently at 39%.

Every other B1G team is at 45% or above except for Nebraska (44%), PSU (43%) and MD (41%).

Our top 5 players by shooting percentage (minimum 15 minutes per game) are:
Woolf 60%
Austin 56%
Cliff 51%
Hyatt 39%
Mag 36%

Theses 5 give us size, toughness, defense, rebounding, and the highest shooting percentage (except from the FT line).

I’d like to see 4 of them on the court together, with just one of our point guards (all three of whom are killing us with poor shooting while getting 20+ minutes per game):
Simpson 35%
Noah 35%
JMike 33%

Noah should have his minutes reduced. Gavin (35%) comes in as game situations allow. No Oskar and no Chol except for spot minutes to give someone a breather.

We have to find a way to lift our team shooting percentage closer to 45%, otherwise we’re starting each game knowing we have to play catchup by trying to force turnovers, and defending so intensely just to bring our opponent's shooting percentage down a little.

If Clif and Woolf are on the court together, their FG% wouldn’t be as high.

They both occupy the same space and cancel each other out.

That would be like playing 2 guys who only shoot great from the left corner 3 at the same time and expect it to work.

“They both shoot 50% so play them together!”

Yes, that’s why I said 4 out of the 5 should play together.

Our guards haven't been distributing the ball enough. There is not enough penetration. Too frequently we are relying on fade aways and pull up jumpers - all players are taking these shots. Cliff has proven he can't create offense on his own. He needs to start attacking towards the rim instead of finessing his offense. We need a guard to aggressively attack the hoop and drop off a pass to Cliff/ Wolf/ Hyatt for a dunk or inside layup. We don't get anymore alley oops, backdoor cuts, dump offs. Way too passive. Guards need to pass and stop shooting so much. Whoever is the best distributor gets the most playtime.

Yes, our guards shoot too much (which wouldn’t be a problem if they were making 48% from inside 10 feet and 33% from the arc, instead of 39% and 29%), so I would play one of them at a time with 4 of the five mentioned above, and have them shoot less and facilitate more.

The two off guards are competing for starting PT next year beside DH. They’re just chucking. It’s insufferable.
