Restaurants on the water in Atlantic Highlands / Asbury Park

Molly Pitcher Inn and the Oyster Point Hotel on the water in Red Bank are options, as is Nicholas on RT 35 for a high end dinner with great service. Nicholas is not on the water but a truly high end dining experience where they acknowledge special occasions.

I would avoid McCloones and Pier Village in Long Branch.

Black Trumpet Spring Lake is also a special place. Next door to the breakers in the Grand Victorian Bed and Breakfast. Will eat there minimum one time a summer and always wonder why we do not go there more.

I don't have much of a sweet tooth, so, when dining in Asbury, we skip dessert in whatever restaurant we're in, and hit up MOGO Korean tacos for a late night bite. Their pork taco tops the list.

I did a small bar crawl last weekend on Cookman and the Biergarten.
Lots of fun, much better than I had expected.

Didn't see any violent crime either, which is what the detractors always reference.
Haha did you actually expect to see a violent crime the few hours you were there in one small section of town?

Wow,

Some interesting suggestions on this thread.

Unless Bahr's has been renovated, I wouldn't go there for anyones bday.
Most of the Asbury places mentioned are real good.
Serena's and the Avenue in Long Branch are very good. The great thing about Long Branch is you can go shopping before/after dinner and walk around all the nice shops.
Moonstruck is really good but is on a lake, still nice.
Sand Bahr was good when Chris owned it, but nothing great.
Tim McCloone is a great guy(voice of Seton Hall) at games, but his restaurants are ok only.
River House in Brielle is real good.
Copper Canyon is real good.
Tons of great restaurants in Red Bank.

Funny you mentioned The Molly Pitcher and The Oyster Point. There's a good looking guy on this board who used to manage and bartender at those two places until a year ago. RU_DI or something.

Both have beautiful views of the Navedsink.
