The 2 Ranney kids were rated 12th and 13th in the entire country. Those kids don't usually give us a look yet. They have choices from the best teams in the land. If we start having winning seasons we might have a chance at top ranked kids.
One's a grad transfer; another averaged 2.6 PPG, and may be looking to move down. Happens. Pretty soon we will have unlimited free agency in football and basketball, with only the flimsiest pretext for getting a hardship waiver so you play immediately without sitting out a year. Show some promise at Nebraska and Michigan State will grab you. Or Louisville. Or Oregon. Or....

The recruit locally paradigm hasn’t worked in generations. Please get rid of that mindset. Get talented Big Ten caliber players who want to compete in the Big Ten. If they are from N.J. ... fine. But it should not be our recruiting focus. Too much wasted recruiting energy. The idea that we are landing elite N.J. athletes is a complete pipe dream until we have some sort of sustained success.
Chase Johnson left during the season over playing time that he didn't get during the rare times he was healthy
Back in January I started to hear that Keith Stone what's going to go lie grad transfer route and most likely transfer to Miami. He tore his ACL shortly after I heard that and I'm not sure Miami will be interested now.
Mike Okauru is a playing time issue. He was a backup point guard last season, a freshman came in and took the starting role and a freshman combo guard is coming in next season who will get more minutes than he was have has he stayed.
Deaundrae Ballard had six DNP in the final 13 games. In the other 7 games he played between 4 minutes of playing time, that includes one game that he played 15 minutes. With Scottie Lewis coming in Ballard would play less.
They landed Ques Glover out of Knoxville. Tennessee let him walk right out of their backyard to a rival school. 6-foot point guard with a great shot. Can also finish at the rim and is a very tough defender.
