Football Rutgers OL enters portal, set to grad transfer

Hm. We need more big nasties, not less. But this stuff happens. Let's hope we can replace him with an even better grad transfer OL.

If I am reading this right he only played in four games here over three years, doesn’t seem like he would be getting significant pt here next year.

No offense to Sam Howson but he was only inserted as a last resort in those games . The only time he would see anytime in 2020 is in a blowout type game. Big kid but never panned out here. Was it because the O line coaches we were blessed with were not really good or the players themselves didn’t belong at this level? Probably some of both.

Fudge... That's not good.
Hah, this is great news. Last minute offer in Ash’s first class with best offers from Wagner, Monmouth, et al., supposedly to start a pipeline to his parochial for Ash. Uh, not exactly. He’ll have an RU degree for 4 years of hard work with the scout team and now he can find a lower level where he can play 11 or 12 games and work on his Master’s - UMass, UConn, Albany, Fordham ...

Maybe he'll be dropping down to FCS and get playing time
A future Monmouth Hawk ????

He is 1 of 5 R-Jr. on the roster(Maietti, Lonsdorf, Onulak, Krimin, and *Howson) from 2016 class.

Maietti(NH, Army, Air Force 2* NR#2626) started 33 out of a possible 36 games in 3 years after redshirt.
Lonsdorf(Uconn, Army, Bucknell 3* NR #1759) first 2 yrs, played 10 games started 4. This season played first 4, started last 8 for Nunzio.
Onulak walk-on 1 game 4 years.
Krimin(Duke, Miami, NCSt. 3* National rank #716) first year 9 games FG unit, 2nd year 10 games 3 starts. started all 12 games this season.
Howson(Maine, Monmouth, Wagner 2* NR#2691) 4 games 3 years

If he has only played sparingly in 4 years, doubt he gets time now, he'll be the next to go FCS. Shows how hard Maietti has worked to be our starting Center for almost 3 years and how lineman are a crapshoot sometimes after the 4* and 5* guys go off the boards.

The starting 5 should be O'Neil, Lonsdorf, Maietti, Krimin, and Sutton, unless a grad transfer comes along or Vretman and Beaty live up to their 2017 recruiting ranking.

Anyone know what happened to Micah Clark? Did he RS last year?

Its a process to get the best team on the field. Roster management is going to be vital.

Probably in the best interest of both sides to handle this in a professional manner.

Best of luck to the young man. He will get a good undergrad and grad degree which is great.
