off to a great start losing 10-1 in their last at bat in the bottom of the 4th.....that will be 3 runs in 3 games...is this the one step forward two steps back rebuild.....better get it together before conf.play begins.....was hoping this team improved ....maybe the "scandal that just faded away" has affected the team............last three games... 34-2

Lost nightcap 5-4 ... 4 game losing streak with a 5-6 record

Walked off by giving up a leadoff home run and a home run with two out during the seventh. Frustrating. But they’ll get it going. A few newcomers to the team too.

I never heard of an event set up like this weekend. 4 teams. Each team plays the other 3 teams. Then they have games where the teams play each other based on their
seeding before the event. So 1 plays 4 and 2 plays 3. The winners then play in the 'Championship Game'. We lost all 3 initial matchups but beat the 1 seed to advance to the championship. Crazy. Hopefully our 4th seed team will win the trophy.

Softball Advances to Boerner Invitational Championship Game

After falling to UTSA 2-1 to end round robin competition at the Boerner Invitational on Saturday morning, the Rutgers softball team exacted revenge in the rematch as the fourth seeded Scarlet Knights shutout the top-seeded Roadrunners 2-0 to advance to the tournament's championship game.

With Saturday's split, Rutgers moved to 6-7 on the season

This is how weekend tournaments are set up although tournaments have more than 4 teams. 1st day (or 2 days) three round robin games. Sunday seeding based on results if 3 games. Tie breakers such as head to head games, least runs given up, run differential also factor in. These girls have been playing this type of set up theirs entire softball lives.
