Basketball Rutgers suffers first loss at Virginia Tech in wild back-and-forth matchup

I’m having trouble too, there’s a chance you may not be able to log in until the event actually starts, but I guess we’ll have to wait until 6pm to know for sure.

If it doesn’t work, both radio broadcasts are on scene as well:

I’m able to watch through the ESPN app. You have to sign into you provider through the app. It works on my iPad and I’m mirroring to my TV. I couldn’t get it to work directly through the TV. 23-19 RU!

Destiny Adams headed right to the locker room after appearing to suffer a leg injury contesting a shot. Struggled to put weight on her left leg.

91-80 final score.

Honestly, I was very impressed by their performance tonight. VT has a lot of newcomers but also kept a lot of players who beat this team 84-59 at JMA last year. The defense still needs some work team-wise but I was impressed the way they kept up for much of the game. Admittedly I really did not think this game was going to go well but they showed a lot of fight, even with Destiny not at the top of her game. Story coming soon.

91-80 final. Hung with them until the end. Difference was their 21 offensive rebounds to our 9 and we had 20 TOs to their 10. But a good test on the road. Got to cut down on TOs but a good effort. Need a killer instinct in the homestretch. Will learn from this! Go RU!!!

What happened the last five minutes of the game? Was it a matter of RU fouling and VT making the FTs? Tight game jitters? VT home crowd the sixth player?

RU FT% much improved this game. I'll take it.

Rutgers' shots stopped falling and Virginia Tech's started falling (oversimplified). They just couldn't execute offensively late and the Hokies took advantage.

So they finally play a decent team and give up 33 points in the 4th quarter to lose by 11? Nice to see this season that we can score again - no doubt - BUT now it looks like we can't play D (giving up 84 to NJIT and 91 to VT, in back-to-back games)? Gonna be another long B1G season, if so, I guess.

In the AtE today Richie doesn’t think they will be 500 this year I sure hope we are because we need to see some tangible improvements

I don't see a team that will have a winning season, I feel it will be just short of that , but the way the team competes will show hope for better things in the future.

Didn’t men give up 84 to Monmouth?

I would not put any stock into Richie's comments about WBB. Last time I asked him he admitted that he does not even watch the games.

Very unlikely, I would think. It should be a much improved season from last year, at least looking in from a far. I haven't seen anyone predicting a winning season, really, but the last couple seasons were so awful that there should be a tangible improvement. A winning out of conference record and close to .500 in conference would do it. From what I hear, recruiting isn't bad, although RU fans want more players.
