Football Rutgers Football suffers first loss of the season, as Nebraska wins 14-7

missed the KM TD, is there a video of it?
There was no review.. but yeah.. KM scored.. should have been 14-14 at out 2nd score.. and more time on clock.

But after seeing the replay guys let that short spot in a KM first down "stand".. I have cc confidence they would have said no TD stands. Same if they reviewed that late 1st half Int.. which hit ground.. no review.. but if they had.. stands

Stop. The defense played elite in the second half. We didn't play great on offense but we were a review and a drop from winning.
The offensive play calling was awful! They actually forgot the heisman running back was on the team.
The review! Greg call time out! Your awful at using them and give them time to review and we’re tied up.

Coaching staff gave it away

Game went as the wise guys thought, right on the 7 point number, RU had their chances, they had a real problem up front. If RU made 2 or 3 offensive plays that were there, they could have won. They didn’t . Need to get ready for a tough game against Wisc. next week. If they don’t play better on the OL, it will be 2 losses in a row.

They crushed our run game. Can't waste a time out for a review. KM is good but he's no where near a Heisman candidate.

Should be a good game to learn from as Wisconsin defense looked pretty good against Purdue. May be similar scheme they will run against us to stop our run game next week.

Umm ok ! 67 yards on 8 carries and then forgetting to give him the ball. Best rb in the big ten . You left your identity.

You must call timeout to review since it was clearly a TD!

You can’t wast a timeout there.

And they spotted it back on the 1 not at like the half
But we still had 5 other plays down there

Agreed. And Wisky handled Purdue today pretty easily, so RU better shore some things up in a hurry or things might not be too pretty against the Badgers. -But hopefully they'll be able to take care of business next week. Guess we'll see.

Nebraska adjusted. We got punched in the mouth in the run game. Their nose tackles had free penetration all game long.

Disagree you call timeout they review it’s a TD! Difference between winning and losing
Not the difference in winning and losing . We still had 5 other plays down there . Get it done.
I don’t think they would have overturned it based on the non-overturn late in the game on the other Monangai run. They had conclusive evidence and still let the call stand

Don't know what the coaching staff's rationale was on the KM TD with not calling for a review. Maybe they didn't want to waste a TO, but I believe that was a 1st and goal play and they probably figured we'd be able to punch it in regardless. -Unfortunately, no matter what went into their decision process, they were wrong

I understand but one has nothing to do with the other. Have to treat them for time and opportunity in the game. Clear miss by the staff. Monangai had less then 10 touches in second half another miss .

Kyle ain’t moving a 4 guy gang tackle. I’m surprised there were no outside pitch plays or sweeps in our book to get him space to make guys miss

It was explained b10 coaches can not call for a review.

I suppose the refs could have said the play stands, because later Manongai got a 1st down that was called short, and they reviewed it and still said the play stands. KM was on top of a body and the first thing to touch the ground was his upper back. The TV guys said maybe the yellow line on the screen wasn't accurate, but they put the ball behind the yellow line.

Kudos to the defense in the second half, they kept us in the game and made it winnable.

If so, I wasn't aware of that. -Well, we had quite a few shots after that and sadly didn't get the job done.

Bummer. Last week UW did everything they could to give us a "W", and this week we did our part in helping the Huskers notch a win.

The football gods giveth...and the football gods taketh away, guess you could say.

Difference is the goal line is the goal line! No yellow line needed ! Greg screwed up

Just a frustrating afternoon.

I think the defense played good.

The offense would have looked better if the line wasn’t battered.

Onto the next.

The loss sucks, but I surprisingly feel optimistic after today.

I didn’t realize that thought they could before, must be something that changed. So then the replay hq and/or official up in the box are the ones looking at every play to see what’s questionable.

The replay official sucked . And so did that line judge on the Rutgers sideline

This is the second time in a row against Nebraska we got absolutely hosed

Just lost here why we stopped running the ball in the second quarter. Just unreal....
They destroyed our run game with the nose guards and bringing from depth. That multiple 3-4 scheme gave us a ton of trouble.

What happens when a call is reviewed at a Big Ten stadium?

The video replay official in a designated area of the stadium's press box communicates with the collaborative replay official (CRO) positioned at one of 18 monitoring stations in the review center throughout the game. The CRO is working on only one game at a time, but the replay supervisor, positioned on an elevated platform in the middle of the room, can be watching multiple.

The CRO illuminates a red tally light on top of a pole at the top of the monitoring station to indicate that a review is ongoing in their game. That draws the attention of the replay supervisor, who joins the audio conversation along with the game referee on a headset from the field.

It's the CRO's responsibility to use a touch screen interface designed by Hawk-Eye Innovations and the Xbox controller to find the right camera angles and positions to determine whether the play should be upheld or overturned.

The CRO has instant access to every camera angle provided by the TV network through Hawk-Eye's Synchronised Multi-Angle Replay Technology and immediately can roll back any of them without waiting for the broadcast to show the footage.

NCAA rules say the video has to convince the replay official "beyond all doubt that the ruling was incorrect" for the on-field ruling to be overturned.

Who makes the final decision on a review in a Big Ten football game?

The replay supervisor in the replay center has the final authority in games at Big Ten stadiums.

A pool of 11 supervisors and CROs employed by the Big Ten has combined for more than 100 years of replay experience, Edds said. They also have been involved in 64 NFL postseason games, including the last five Super Bowls.

Big Ten coordinator of football officials Bill Carollo, who assigns personnel both on field and for reviews, said he's trying to limit the number of games worked by a CRO on any day to two.

"There's fatigue in this business, and we want to make sure our guys are fresh and relaxed," Carollo said.

Unlike on-field officials, the names of replay officials both in the stadium and at the replay center aren't listed in the game's box score.

So you’re saying over 100 years of experience blew that call?
