Rutgers Wrestling NCAA Championship Results & Update Thread (All Sessions)

Ashnault wrestles the winner from Thielke (WIS), 13 Cruz (LEH), Rodriquez (ILL) & 12 Ward (UNC), not Abidin.

Ash is on the opposite side of the bracket as Abidan. He won't see him unless he clears the consulations. He'll see Thielke/Cruz or Rodriguez/Ward, then Heil or Martinez or Oster/Morales.

Perez stalls so much it's crazy. Look at my posts when RU wrestled PU. Theo lost to a kid he should have beat again.

I don't mind losing like Ash did but losing to guys we have beaten in the biggest stage hurts. Blanco and Perez both guys we beat earlier.

Theobold beat Perez 5-3. Can't get upset about Theobold losing to a guy he beat in a close match, whereas you should be upset w/Perrotti losing to Blanco, who he techd. 15-0 is different than 5-3.

Clagon is really good! Bummer he didn't come to RU... Beats Racciato of Pitt in consolations rd2 after a very close loss to Tsisrtis.

I think RU I also very good at 149. With Theo and Dippery. Also have Gentile. Im glad he went to rider and stayed instate.

Wow, Realbuto comeback down 8-4 (9-4 w/RT) comes back to tie it & win in SV. Miller was beyond gassed. Great comeback

No. 7 Anthony Ashnault (#RUWR) will wrestle the winner between No. 13 Randy Cruz (Lehigh) and No. 12 Joseph Ward (UNC) in the Round of 12.

And how about Billy Baldwin as the ESPNU commentator? lol. He's pretty good actually .

It was a very frustrating match if you were rooting for Miller. He had the match won - just stay away for the last 5 seconds with 2pt lead!

Taylor Walsh, U of Indiana via Camden Catholic just won an upset at 165 and makes AllAmerican ! Also had 18 pins this season !

Proud of the kid.

He's lost to Isaac a couple times before. Picked a good time to get revenge.

ESPN reporting the Kent coaching staff is protesting that Realbuto cut his kid at end, official awarded a point and that point never made it to the scoreboard. Realbuto's opponent should have won. NCAA now going thru their rule book to decided what to do.. LOL, stuff happens

LOL. At least the coach caught the error now and not when he got back to his hotel room and started getting thousands of texts and calls from people watching the match. How do you NOT have a coach strictly keeping their own set of books carefully during matches like these? This should have been caught right away before OT even happened.

Tango,

Are our guys done until the evening session, or could they have another match this afternoon? Thanks

9-1 so far. This is the Smith we're all waiting to see this year. Not the guy who's tentative to take a shot against some of the better HWYs in the country.

Wow 12-2 major decision for Smith over the #15 seed from Oklahoma. There's a confidence-booster.
