Season Ticket... Who's out?

I’m out but more because we moved and I don’t want to be driving over an hour each way on a weeknight. That said don’t feel any connection to the game as it is now.
Hey I'm an hour two. Maybe Rutgers will be forced and back to selling packages or weekend or single games. But then again they'll pretend it's a sold out season and dump them.

They are sold out in the sense that they’ve unloaded all the tickets, just not for the revenue they really hope for. Hucksters like StubHub buy tickets at a ridiculous discount that allows Rutgers to claim a sell out.

I'm tired of getting kicked in the nuts every year with high hopes and dreams of success across all Rutgers sports. Things had been trending up during the beginning of the Hobbs era and since then, pretty much every sport has cratered except football.

RU basketball will always be my first love, but I'm out on season tickets. I will miss the people that I sit near who have treated me well, but I'm sure they won't miss my big mouth! I will now be a 3 sport Rutgers season ticket holder instead of 4.

I was most likely doing this after the season anyway, but what put me over the edge? The balls of the athletic department to do the opt in so early. We don't have a team or a schedule and you want me to lock in after a miserable season? GTFO and kiss my butt.

My trip is about 2 hours one way on a good day but football is worst.

You know the ticket office started the auto renewal in part because many season ticket holders lost their tickets last year. They forgot to renew and ended up losing their tickets.

Lol forget to renew? They only send out a whole bunch of emails

Furthermore ticket reps should be calling ALL season ticket holders or at minimum text reminders

Hmmm don’t think this is the reason.

I highly doubt this happened to more than a few folks, at most.

Auto renewal is probably a combination of reducing manual (human) intervention with automation and while pressuring people to renew early.

Is anyone who is giving up season tickets still giving or instead starting to give to NIL?

?? Spoke to my agent a month ago. And he's a new agent. Quite helpful, gets back to you asap.. Honestly everyone I ve had was real good and they would personnsly text me with reminders, etc.

If you want all of the fans "bitching" to leave there won't be many people left. Kool-Aid drinkers like you who have don't care about winning are in the small minority right now.
It was very clear that he was talking to you specifically...lol.

Just curious who's bailing after the poor results the last few years. We'll likely be bad again too this year unless Pike finds a pot of gold this year to pay the mercenaries that are available.

I'm still staying because if I give up my seats in the 100's it will be very difficult to ever get them back.
I’m out. Section 216. I don’t need the added disappointment and aggravation in my life lol. And I pay for it no less. NIL has ruined it for me. The only way I would reconsider is if Pike leaves.

You can Stub Hub most games for $30- good seats.

That was football for me 10 years ago. I just buy the extras as needed for less. Got tired of losing money and begging people to go.
I gave up my football tickets years ago also and haven’t regretted it for a second, for exactly the same reasons you mention. Now, I pick a game or two and overpay for them on stubhub but it’s much easier. You would think I would have learned, but I’m struggling with giving up on 35 years of hoops tickets. What Pike does in the portal during the next 3 weeks will probably decide it for me.

You can have mine. I'm done. 47 years is enough.
I saw a lot of bad basketball, but it with the way they can transfer every year and get paid with NIL that was the last straw.
I'll watch on TV.
I understand the transfers. Everyone wants to root for players for 3-5 years. It don’t like the current rules. I don’t get NIL complaints. These kids / young adults put in a ton of work, fill stadiums and make universities millions. They have been taken advantage of for years.

I asked my ticket rep today about people dropping tickets. His reply
" Not really seeing a lot of people drop tickets. We see a lot of keyboard warriors online but we think we will still be able to pack the arena"
I would be very surprised if the season tickets don’t sell out again. That would mean a 93-95%+ renewal rate.

Cool. Loyalty goes both ways.

So winning wouldn’t make you reconsidering? Really hate Pike that much?
I don’t hate Pike. As a matter of fact, I think he’s a really great guy. I am not going to bash him but take a look at the last few seasons…and this season with two 5 stars. If you think RU basketball will have a winning season anytime soon you are quite the optimist.

They had a winning seasons 4 of the past 6 years. This year was a disaster and last year his key players left at the last minute. Both were pretty extreme situations.
