so I should be mad because some teenagers playing sports ended the season on a down note? They lost one of their teammates in an ugly way. But they should just block it out and move on? I guess they didnt. Some of them hit a wall and didn’t get over the hump. They picked a bad time to do that and to lose their edge and swagger that we saw a month ago. They peaked at the wrong time. Professional teams have that happen. They are kids. So they are allowed to have a lousy year but peak in the tournament (year 1+2 of pike) but not the other way around?
I know you might think I’m making excuses but we are rooting for a team of teenagers. And now we are supposed to be upset all night and for tomorrow? Why? Or we should doubt their abilities now for the next 8 months or be worried about pike? I saw a coach tonight who cared and was trying what he could to get his team to win. They laid an egg. They might have legit reasons for that and maybe no excuses too. But to be this upset over a game you didn’t play in makes no sense to me.
It was fun watching this team this year. It was the funnest season in years and next year will only be better. Coach has 2 scholarships to fill and these kids have an offseason to get healthy and work on their games.
It will be okay. They’ll make the tournament someday. And that’s for the coach and the kids to decide and figure out.
