Since RU does not have any wrestlers in this wrestleback round I was going to combine Session 5 w the Finals, Session 6 thread, but then reconsidered when I realize how many great matches there still are to go, which will also affect RU's final team standing, the goal being to finish top 10.

So I will start a separate thread for the Finals, later on this afternoon.

Some great matchups coming up, eg :

125 - Rivera vs Glory

133- DeSanto vs Pletcher, Micic vs Erneste

149- Kolodznik vs Finsilver, Mauller vs OConner

157- Hidlay vs Deakin

165- Wick vs White, Marsteller vs Shields

174- McFadden vs Lewis, ,Amine vs Labriola

285 - Stevenson vs Hemida, Wood vs Dhesi

There will be 3 mats going for 3rd, 5th and 7th places.

Enjoy the wrestling this morning !

Great match w Glory vs Rivera, Glory up 9-7 end of 2.

Picc in a close one.

PS- These are Consy SEMIFINALs

Rivera wins 14-9 , he goes on to wrestle the Cornell kid for 3rd .

Picc loses.

133- Both matches guys wrestling very hard, high paced action, DeSanto gets a hands to the face called on him, then he pushes Pletcher out and gets called.

Commentators agains brought up the match where ref 22 DQ'd DeSanto's opponent in 2 min for stalling, neither had ever seen or heard of such a thing.

Pletcher w a strong take down on DeSanto after called for stalling, throws DeSanto to the mat hard.

Terrific finish ! Pletcher beats DeSanto 10-9 ?

141 Demas, Ok, beats Nick Lee, PSU 13-9 anothr great match

Damn Kolo literally did nothing the last few matches. He needs to find some offense to be a legitimate contender.

I think his career officially over .

hey , Billy Baldwin w some screen time ! lol

184 -Myles Martin 5-2.

Refs don't seem to be calling much stalling in these wrestlebacks.

125

Rivera dec over Arujau for 3rd , helps us a bit finishing ahead of Cornell possibly

Picc pins Glory for 5th place
I watch these rounds for team placement when we have nobody in it. Makes it interesting and gives me somebody to root for

I want anybody from these schools to lose:

Nebraska - way outside chance to catch
Virginia Tech - real good chance to pass
Lehigh - we're still ahead
Arizona St - we're still ahead

How many points are finals wins worth? What’s our potential?

6 of the 8 AAs at 133 are from the Big 10. That is just crazy. I have to check other brackets if they have that many Big 10 AAs.

149

3rd OConner over Finesilver by dec

5th Kolodznik over Mauller by dec

Sebastian Rivera is sitting in the RU section with his mom (?) cheering on Deakin. Pretty cool.

165
3rd- Marstellar over Wick by dec

5th White over Shields by dec

Martstellar with a really nice post match interview.

3rd- Amine over Lewis 4-3

5th- McFadden over Labriola by def. Right at the buzzer a reversal.

So Zavatsky loses.

Scenario now set we sit 3.5 pts. behind Virginia Tech and can't be caught for 11th. Now baring bonus points:

We win two in finals we take 10th no matter what Virginia Tech does
Virginia Tech wins 0 we win 1. We take 10th
Virginia Tech wins 1 we win 1. We take 11th

Yes. When only two guys are scoring points even if both make the finals, unfortunately it's just not enough. Now get that third guy just to 7th/8th place then you're talking 8th possibly 7th place.
