Now Bailey is out, looks terrible on the bench. If these kids had the jab, they would be down for a day or two max.

There's lots of stuff going around. Could be something other than the flu. It sounds like Williams had norovirus, no vax for that.

My wife and I both had the flu shot and we were both out a solid week with the flu. Another week trying to get back to normal. It’s brutal. It worked as well as the Covid vaccine

Not sure about Old Queens, but Ace & Durkack were pictured at the Franklin HS MBB game this week. Sitting in the crowd

They are kids. You can't isolate them. How does anyone know if they got the flu shot or not?

Really, flu shots!!! On a college bball board!
Spare us
They should all learn to use their own bodies
Breathe through their nose at all times!
Teach them that!
It will keep them healthy avoid flus no need for BS flu shots.
1968 Olympic track team were coached to do this, most successful medal haul in our history.
Evans attributes his gold medal directly to this.
Have to ask why it was buried after proven to stop illness and improve performance.

Not good . There was no need even if his brother was playing no need to drag Ace out.

Would be surprised if he does not have the flu vaccine and I am sure there is a push to get it for all athletes.

Flu vaccine though is really only marginally effective, CDC estimating ~34% effectiveness this year so far

This is a really lame thread, can we talk about how Pike sucked or how so so sucked today…..some game analysis would be a vast improvement

It’s not the flu - if you watch him that first TV shot zoomed on him on the bench, he clearly says to Martini “it’s my asthma”. Think he probably had an asthma attack. Harper also has asthma, uses an inhaler occasionally on the bench

Agreed. First time I’ve gotten the flu shot in years and coincidentally first time I got the actual flu in years too

As Miggins just said above, only marginally effective this year. So it could have helped some but probably not all.
What is even crazier that he is clearly sick and on the bench— why not keep him away from everyone??
Exactly, why expose others to it as well. If he has some kind of infectious disease, there are several people on staff that don't know what they are doing.
Ah, he was already around everyone. These kids can pick this stuff anywhere. You can't super isolate everyone all the time.
I'm not sure if you were serious about this remark or not. But intentionally exposing everyone to a communicable disease (if that's the case) is pretty irresponsible.

Probably true.

I mean the guy who was supposed to be our veteran leader (Williams) was giggling away during and after getting waxed by Kennesaw state.

Today he fouls out and plays around with the Maryland student section four 2-3 minutes while walking to the bench.

This team has always lacked toughness and win at all costs mentality from the top.

Yup - saw him high fiving and talking to Jeremiah. Ummm....no dude you are quarantined away from the team so you dont get every one else sick.

I was serious. Like the kid wasn't around the team pre game? Give me a break.

Williams is a character. On another team I think we’d not like him. Some probably don’t already.

The rise in asthma and allergies is exactly why we need a change in how our government country and medical industrial complex approach medicine!
It’s broken!!!!

You can still get the flu with the shot as it doesn't cover every strain. I know it happened to me more than once when I was a volunteer EMT and had taken the shot.

Used to see Austin Johnson in bar all the time before 21 and he doesn’t blend into the crowd. They don’t care
Lol thats probably why they were horrible.

Anyone want to tell OP getting the flu shot doesn't prevent the flu? Its just prevents the most common strain.

The ladies had their best player, Kiyomi not play today due to illness. The better news was Purdue had 5, 5 players out sick. So, yes we won.
