That being: Why does Jahsim Floyd out of Sayreville have no offers? -T.H. calls him the most dominant TE in NJ, and at 6' 7", 205 lbs., this kid could be an absolute animal once he's gone through a college weight training program.

Now I have no knowledge about his academic situation, (and nothing is mentioned by T.H. about it), so I don't know if that has anything to do with it, and I know highlight reels are designed to make everyone look good, but this guy appears to have some serious skills.

I watched him against Old Bridge last year and Piscataway this year and he had at least 3 to 4 drops in both games on very catchable passes....two of which would have been easy TD's.....he has the footwork and size, but would really take a lot of work to be at a B1G level.

Built like a basketball player. Although I understand he can put on weight. He doesn't look super explosive for being 6'7 in high school.

On film, he looks a little slow.

Well, he might not be an absolute burner, but he appears to at least have decent speed. And we are talking about a tight end here, not a running back or a wide receiver. -With his height, I think he'd be a real match-up headache for any DB's who would have to cover him. Seems like a real "under-the-radar" kind of guy to me.

Oh well, such is the world of recruiting.

Don't think academics is a problem was offered by NJIT and Holy Cross in BB

Mr. Hunt needs to do a little better at his job and let others the experts worry about scouting.

(EDIT: please see my post down below regarding this comment. Thank you).

Just wait as soon as Old Dominion offers every school will be all over this kid.

The mods were at the 7 on 7 and said he didn't look like a D1 P5 level player to them.

Probably because he's from Sayreville-the home of sticking your fingers in your teammates' butt!

Finding enough talent isn't easy. Power 5 programs are going after the top 2% of high school talent. It takes more than just size, even though it is sooooo difficult to find 300lb Oline-men and 6'5 TEs who can move.

Check out a Div 3 game. Rowan, Montclair, Cortland, Ithaca - You'd be surprised how big those kids are.

To play in the Power 5, size is a foregone conclusion. You need exceptional athleticism.

Athleticism: speed, explosive first step, jumping power, vision body control = over everyone else.

this is when 'stats' and 'football player' don't mesh. How many Emmit Smith's are out there?

you can't teach size

Alex Mr Nuts knows all and sees all. You didn't know that?

Relax there Zippy. All I'm saying is Mr. Hunt is not A SCOUT, he's a reporter, yet for some reason it appears as though he's doing some serious promoting/bandstanding for this young man. Seems a bit odd to me, that's all.

Nuts Zippy the Pinhead? That is the nicest thing you have ever said to me. Quite frankly I really don't care about the thread Just wanted to poke the bear. Hope you and those 6 ladies had a sweet new years. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Ha! Had a blast, actually, me, another dude (he was dating my friend, the hostess), and 4 single ladies. One of them, let's say, helped me forget 2016 rather quickly, thanks!

you sure it's just Mr Hunt?

Rivals - Shawn Brown agrees that Hunt is over-assessing the kid's abilities
Rivals - not rated or ranked
Offers - only Monmouth

....you tell me? Am I, along with everybody else in this thread, missing something?

I saw him twice and based on that limited sample, I think he appears a bit slow for WR and not physical for TE. I thought I heard or read that he is more into hoops but maybe I'm remembering this incorrectly. Anyway, I think size without athleticism is a work in progress. He could end up being a great player but Not a slam dunk. I'd have to go with the coaches' assessment in either case.

My apologies as I was not aware the Todderick ran his own scouting service. I apologize for my comments re: sticking to his own profession.

Does't make this any less peculiar to me - and obviously others - however.

This is the reason I'm questioning T-Hunt's rationale for his article (aside from busting chops a bit in my first post...). It makes no sense. Gotta be more to it IMHO but, hey, I could be wrong.

Seems like he likes to promote some guys, he talked up Justin Nelson long after RU moved on after he did not qualify.

That was the reasoning that the Portland Trail Blazers picked Sam Bowie over Michael Jordon. Great strategy [eyeroll]
yup and there are examples of the opposite of that so what is your point? I mean, it's not like we've got any tall bodies to throw the ball too in the redzone unless you are watching a different team.

More often than not, great players come from 'poor stats'
