T. Hunt asks a good question about this young guy...

Well, he might not be an absolute burner, but he appears to at least have decent speed. And we are talking about a tight end here, not a running back or a wide receiver. -With his height, I think he'd be a real match-up headache for any DB's who would have to cover him. Seems like a real "under-the-radar" kind of guy to me.

Oh well, such is the world of recruiting.

I think you identified a potential issue. If you look at the highlight reel, there are only about 3 or 4 plays where he's lined up as a traditional TE. Nearly every play has him lined up in the slot. He's more of a big WR on this tape than a TE.

I'd be interested hearing the feedback of anyone who saw him play a full game or more. If he's lining up as a traditional TE 33% of the time or more, then his blocking might not be what a D1 school is looking for in a TE and he doesn't have the speed you want at WR. If he's split out 80% of the time or more because of the offensive scheme, then he might be a legitimate project who will likely need to add at least 25 pounds to play TE at a D1 level. In that case, I could see a MAC or Sun Belt team taking a chance on him and 4 years from now this board being ticked because we didn't offer.

He is already too slow to play TE at his current weight. He needs to put on at least 35 pounds of muscle and he will only get slower with the extra weight.

After hearing that he killed it at the 7 on 7 tournament I was excited to watch his tape. But after watching it is clear that he is not a P5 player. You need a certain amount of speed at certain positions to be able to have a chance and he just isn't fast enough for TE.
