The reality after three games...2015 is on cusp of major disaster

Shack...love your posts but I don't see any improvement either...

the Red Sea touchdown to get to 21-0 was stunning in that it was Pop Warneresque

Rossi is way over his head but the lack of any usable depth across the whole D is not
all on him...

The D Line is tissue paper thin...we have LB's covering WR's because we have to

We have a few 'name your score' games coming...

RU has a generational hire coming.....my biggest fear is the team making that call and
the ability to get a winning coach in here with this dysfunctional president on down deal...

To win you have to want to win...Barchi doesn't want to win,,could care less

The Red Sea td I need to see again, but from my vantage point, it looked like the secondary was playing a different coverage than the linebackers and I can most of the 60 plus year olds on this board would have made 10 yards on it

I was yelling why aren't we calling a time out there

Shack, my friend, we've been talking about this for months. I don't know WHY people thought our D was suddenly going to be good, why our O wasn't going to miss a step - or even "be better," despite losing 225+ starts "up the gut" - or why we'd win a game in which our QB was starting on the road, for the 1st time ever, in front of 103,000+ fans, with about 98,000 of them cheering for the home team.

We really never threatened to get a TD the entire game. Scary.
C'mon, our defense was going to be better in the secondary, with more experience and the front 7 looked at least pretty good, but with the dismissals and Hamilton out (not sure he's 100% yet), the defense is worse, obviously. QB was always the big ? mark for me and last year's Nova is superior to Laviano so far, although I agree it's asking a lot to expect any green QB to excel on the road in front of a huge hostile crowd. Really would like to see what Rettig can do, although nobody is going to play well without a good OL or running game, i.e., last night's loss is only partly on CL.

My jury is still out on the rest of the season even after seeing what transpired last night. I think people forget what a huge advantage night games are for PSU at home. Look at their record the last 5 years or so playing at night. Its not an easy place for anyone, ask Ohio State last year, they barely escaped with a win. Not excusing all the points that were mentioned and yes we have a lot of cracks. I was expecting a hostile environment but I was really impressed w/ how loud it was in there. Have to give the PSU fans MAJOR props for their fandom. The stadium had 99,000 fans in the seats 10 minutes before kickoff! And for the few RU fans that were there, why are some of you wearing white or gray shirts? Get w/ the program. How are you not wearing Red to an away game?

Flood possibly could've been replaced two years ago but one donor decided Flood was his guy and got him extended. There was a thread asking what does Flood do well? My response was, he knows how to make people like him. That is literally why he still has a job.
Knowing how to make people like you is the gift of manipulation. Car salesmen, sociopaths, con men, and fraudulent football coaches have this gift.

(Some) People were acting like we were going to have a top 30 D again, that's where I was going with that comment, should have been a tad more specific I guess, sorry.

In reality, there are 4 games that they have a chance at.

Kansas and Army have greater chances, Indiana and Maryland are winnable too but will be tougher.

They need Rettig as the starting QB to win IMO.

They SHOULD beat Kansas and Army.

Indiana and Maryland are winnable but they can lose to both easily.

It would be shocking if they can win any of the other games.

I called a 3 win season after the WSU game and I am sticking with that until I can see something to change my mind.

Gotcha - not a problem and I agree we weren't going to have a top 30 defense, but it certainly wouldn't have been this bad. I can't see how Flood survives this season, as I just don't see more than 4 wins, maybe 5 on the schedule and I think either outcome, along with the ridiculously bad judgment with the prof (a fireable offense IMO and in the opinions of at least 3-4 RU profs I've asked) and the disciplinary problems, will seal his fate. I like the guy, actually and I hope he proves me wrong, as that would mean RU wins 6 or more games, but I just don't see it happening.
