- Drexel is 2-1 and play in CAA.

- They lost to Temple 70-62 and then defeated Niagara (yes that Niagara) 72-64 and defeated Abilene Christian 86-83.

- Tim Perry JR, son of Tim Perry of Freehold; Temple and NBA Fame is on the squad but he may be red shirting.

- They have 4 players who average between 10-14 ppg led by JR Fwd James Butler (6'8"); Zach Walton ( SR F - 6'6"); Carmyn Winton (G - 6'2") and Fr F TJ Bickenstaff (no relation to Bernie Bickerstaff).

- HC is Zach Spiker formerly of Army. 4th year on the job.

- Average 23 3 PT FG Attempts a game so they will hoist it from downtown and their FT Shooting Avg is 68%.

For an 8:00 Wednesday game against a weak opponent? Yes, the crowd will be weak.
i have tickets to tomorrow's game..what is the deal with the double header...women play at 6...when can I get in for the mens game? anyone know?

So crowds are just going to continue to decline?

I thought the students and fanbase were pumped up for the season.

Yes, you are right. That is exactly how this works. Crowds are going to decline. At this rate, in a month, for the December 14 game, we will be down below 2,000 in attendance. You are brilliant.

It’s gonna be about 30-degrees (I believe) below normal - taking into account windchill - tomorrow night fellas. People aren’t ready for this. That WILL affect the crowd. I’m more concerned euthanized getting the “W”’s for now.

Joke all you want but fan attendance is vital to big time hoops programs.

Financially, optics, recruiting and most importantly to the players.

Go ask Jerry Carino

So I tore my ACL playing pickup basketball at the RAC one night my freshman year. I was friends with Jason Maronge (remember the big 6'10" kid from Houston that Wenzel brought in our first year in the Big East, along with Billet, Hodgson, Billy Gilligan, Earl Johnson, etc?). Anyway, so he had keys to the RAC and we were playing pickup their late one night when I tore it. I still remember it... an awkward jump stop by the foul line near 118. Didn't know it was torn at the time though. Flash-forward about 6 months later and I tore it FULLY at the College Ave. gyms playing pickup. People actually gathered around and watched my kneecap pop back into place, it was cra! Anyway, I'm OG from North Jersey so after 2nd semester frosh year I went home and did my rehab at HealthSouth on 17 in Paramus and every day, next to me doing HIS knee rehab was none other than the Nets' Tim Perry. Man I felt like a real baller back then, ha. :)

People a little too concerned with the drop off for a Sunday afternoon game during football season (Jets vs. Giants no less, even though they both suck), against a very low opponent.

I would LOVE to see the womens game! LOTS of talent of that team !!!

I just hope it doesnt snow. If the weather is decent what a great thing to do on a wintery day...a basketball double header !!!!

They are predicted 8th in the CAA. This int vintage Drexel and RU waxed them by 29 last year

Quoting Forrest Gump...this game will be like a box of chocolates, you never what you are going to get.

Throw Niagara, Drexel, and Bryant in the box. All 3 games we are supposed to win by 20. We win one by 2 and the other by 40 and despite what we think the teams are the same.

Never said attendance is not important.

I am just making fun of your inane question. If you ask a dumb question...

this is true, I think we get somewhere in between the 3...I think generally Drexel has a better program than the other two yet they seem to have fallen on some tougher times of late. The Bryant game showed that RU can get beat by an awful team...remember close calls with Columbia and Boston U and the loss to Fordham. Bryant is a bad team. What we saw from RU was really really shocking and embarrassing to play like that the last 10 minutes. Hopefully it was a one night thing where their heads were way too big.

I actually see the SF Austin game coming up as dangerous, this program has had some success with 4 NCAA appearance in the last 6 years including wins over WVU and Baylor. They dropped off last season but i just have a feeling about this game.

I don't think Bryant is going to be that bad. I was impressed with HC Grasso. He took Bryant from 3-28/2-16 the year before he got there to 10-20/7-11 in his first season. They looked to me like a team that could take another step forward. Time will tell.

are we really trying to prop them up as some good team....they are not. RU played horrific the last 10 minutes. That they sleptwalked through the first 30 and were up double digits confirms that Bryant sucks

We do this every year when we lose one or have a scare and then almost always in the end the team stunk

I remember losing to Jackson State and we all were convinced their guard was going to the NBa

Bryant beat Cornell at home only by 1.....despite shooting 15-32 from 3.

Cornell is a high 200s team
You forgot to mention Cornell was 11-26 from 3. Both teams took 23 free throws and Cornell made 5 more than Bryant. Overall, the stats were almost identical so the game should be close.

Honey, where's my agenda? I need it so it can fit neatly into my story.:Laughing

Bryant lost by 2 to #181 Brown, lost by 2 @ #69 Rutgers and beat #279 Cornell by 1. Yes, I am propping them up as a team that will not finish in the 300's again. In fact I'd make a $50 Scarlet R wager they improve 30+ spots on their #327 ranking from year ago. Bet?

Grasso spent 8 years at Iona under Cluess. From what I saw in that game he had a well coached team.

Men’s ticket will get you in for women’s game, so whenever you show up you can get in early for men and catch part of women if you are so inclined
Just like it was many years ago. Lots of games were double headers in the '80's. I'd get out of work at 5pm and be at the RAC for the women's game followed by the men's game.

You've been around long enough to remember losses to Columbia and FSU in early season games.

Didn’t the AD stop that in the mid to late 80s when the women were having better years than the men? Women would get good crowds then people left and the men played to lesser crowds.

Well, I always stayed.
A shoe store had a deal going with the Women's team at one point where they would give a % off based by the point difference the women won by. I remember a time that the women won by something like 80 points and the store lost a few bucks.
