So I will be attending an event where the former ref will be one of the honorees. I probably won't even meet him but just in case, refresh my memory on all the injustices he dealt us. I'm enough of a hoops fan to have witnessed the NIT Final vs Michigan. We had the Garden rocking. I know there are more but can't recall.

I had Higgins speak at a Club meeting last season...easily the best guest speaker we've had in my time in charge of the group.

Get past the Rutgers angle and just enjoy his stories...good stuff for every college basketball fan

Can't forget Johnnie game. Like Higgins and company wanted to get to Happy Hour that day.

Compile a list of every RU game he refed. You will have your list of injustices.

There were refs a LOT worse than Tim...trust me on this...

Tim just wanted to be part of the show and not on the periphery...that's what ticked me off about him more than anything. A good ref should not be noticed

That and he talked to the coaches way too much. Way way too much

I hated Tim Higgins. Saw him at the Court Club meeting and he easily became my favorite guest speaker at any event I've been to.

Stories were hilarious, he seemed truthful in everything he said, and he owned any bad calls brought up. He gave a lot of insight into the officiating, and basketball in general.

Completely changed my view of the guy.

Wasn't looking to rip the guy, just maybe a funny jab if I wind up next to him at the bar. I will look forward to hearing his spiel.

Bet he and Trained Geese laughed after every game THEY screwed us over.

I actually played in a member guest with him a couple of years ago he was nice and had great stories. Said he was going to write a book about them not sure if he is doing it or not

He should honestly write something, the guy definitely commanded the room at the Court Club meeting.
