Time for a sticky post of the rules of this forum?

I read through "areyounuts" tweets, entertaining, obsessed with this site to Say the least. Funny thing is his beef seems to be anyone that posts something positive about the team or program? Seems like an odd approach. Honestly there are more important things in life to me than;

1. Freaking over the direction this program is headed and 2. Freaking even more over views from people that are different from yours. 3. relentlessly going to a site you claim is full of commies and stupid people criticizing them, but then complaining that you are permitted to be part of the group. Mildly postal to say the least.

Anyway as Rodney King once said; "can we all just get along?"

I don't really know what is going on or who said what. I missed the first thread that prompted WhiteBus's "sky is blue" response (and the only reason I skimmed through that thread is to figure out what that phrase meant).

But I really wish that people who get banned didn't come back with different screen names. You know when a new poster is posting 20 times a day, they are probably someone who is banned and returning. If WhiteBus and AreYouNuts return, they should just come back as WhiteBus2 and AreYouNuts2, so the rest of us know who they are.

Also, I don't think this board needs rules on how to treat other posters. If you are not sure whether something is against the rules or not, don't post it. Arguments over whether a post violated the thin line of the rules or not, are moronic.

We had the rules posted for years, but they didn't transfer with the new board. I have to figure out how to get that link back, or else just post them to a pushpinned thread.

John - don't you teach 3rd grade. I bet by that age the kids are old enough you don't have to post the rules anymore. Kinda sad people need them, or feel they need them here.

I think we should add a rule addressing the circumstances under which it's necessary to post the rules.

I am sure that will be the case. He really went nuts trying to get himself banned and it worked. So good for him.

It is just silly to get yourself worked up that much over a freaking message board. Isn't he too old for that sh#t? This site is suppose to be just for fun, it is not that serious. Actual serious discussions and complaints can be taken directly to the actual Rutgers AD in private. This site is just a fan-site. So just Relax.

Remember kids you are allowed to criticized Rutgers and the football program all you want but you are not and should not be allowed to be a jerk about it or be a jerk about anything else for that matter.

Just don't be a jerk and you will never get banned.

It's not that hard.

Have to give White Bus credit, he did just about what you said banned posters should do when they return under a new name
He came back as White Bus Tailgate and let everyone know who he really was.
I think if someone is banned, then allowed back his name should come back with him/her..

Football season is upon us, lets hope for a general amnesty for banned RU fans that agree to tone it down if allowed to return.
Tone it down ( as I see it) means personal insults are out and starting a thread calling out another member/ mod should be out as well.

One thing I'd like to see happen is everyone try to depersonalize criticisms.. of players, maybe coaches, and posters.

Consider the following critical remarks from the last several seasons:

A) Nova Sucks.

B) SuperNova or TurNova...

C) Nova doesn't seem to stand in to deliver a pass and then get hit.

D) We need a QB who can stand in and to deliver a pass and know he will then get hit. Whether its the starter or a backup, we need that.

This is a discussion board and we should be able to discuss what we see and what we think about what we see. But we should do so recognizing that the players and their families and friends read these boards.

I think example D is the kind of thing that will allow tough criticism while recognizing these are Scarlet Knights we are talking about. Our team.

Whats wrong with C? SAys basically the same thing as D. We are now going to regulate sentence structure? This is getting a bit silly, and more stupid by the moment...wait let me change this to an appropriate structure......

I'd bet bus will be back before camp ends. He got a timeout, I'd bet he was given warning but kept his foot on the gas. As for the other guy if he'd relax on twitter he'd be back already. Hard to let someone back when he continually proves he hasn't changed. That being said, I wouldn't ban anyone because there is an ignore button.

AG- here is the interesting thing. Some people make assumptions and are completely wrong. The people that sometimes get warnings and or bans from John, like to think that another poster contacted John to ban or punish a poster. Never do they consider that John actually sees something and either makes a decision on his own or reaches out to someone to ask what happened.

I believe that in most cases, majority of emails or messages John gets from the "sky is blue group"...I still don't get it(what does that mean)??? lol is when someone crosses the line on a commit or there is a personal attack. and not just calling someone a dumbass.

well Nuts is saying that this site gets tons of emails saying people don't want him here...I think that is not true. I do believe there are some vocal nutjobs out there who do have nothing better to do than email mods and IMO their opinion gets too much weight

On twitter you know who is tweeting links to threads here, taking shots at individual posters and attacking John O and you naively believe that it has nothing to do with being allowed back here. IMO he is likely one of the nut jobs you refer to constantly emailing the mods lobbying for things.

This is a message board and not real life. If you've been kicked off it is your own fault for pissing too many people off, pissing the wrong people off or for acting like a jack off. There is absolutely zero reason to go on Twitter and respond to stuff here unless you are obsessed or desperate. There is enough room on the net to discuss RU football elsewhere. If someone wants to get back here, they likely need to be contrite with the Mods. For those of us who are not self absorbed, this is a pretty simple concept.

But it shows a pattern. He was banned for certain behaviors and since that has continued on twitter why would the mods want that behavior back here? As I said, I'd like for him to come back but you can't deny his style can be quite toxic.

WhiteBus was given a day to rest it off, but broke the 24 hrs and decided to continue to respond as he was. I'm sure he'll be back. And as I've said before, I'm pretty sure Nuts could be back eventually too once some of this dies down.

There's really no such thing as a permanent ban here. If people show they're willing to chill out, I've seen John reinstate a ton of people here. All it takes is an email to him to talk it out and come to peace.
