Unless you’re a 1st or 2nd round pick, sitting out bowl games is completely foolish

This is going to be an unpopular opinion but sitting out bowl games is frankly counterproductive to late round players draft stock imo.

1) youre already on the fringe of being able to even make a roster when youre a late rounder or a UDFA

2) it’s not life changing money being drafted in the late rounds. Most scouts have Bo as the only draftable player on our team and even for him, it’s a 6th-7th round grade from what I can gather. 6th-7th rounders only receive guaranteed money of around $130K on their contract which after taxes that bonus comes to about half that $65,000. Hardly life changing money. Now granted if you can stick for 3 years you probably pocket after taxes and living expenses around $700,000. Again, great start but not immediate life changing money.

3) it doesnt make sense unless youre a top 50 pick but they could always take out an insurance policy if theyre that afraid of getting hurt

4) youve already played 40+ games, youre truly afraid of one more?

5) for top round picks, scouts want talent. For late round picks they want guys who love the game or have high ceiling that they think they can coach out of them. I have no doubt someone like Bo loves the game but to a scout that doesnt know him, he plays a position that is notorious for players having attitudes and sitting out when youre already on the fringe of being drafted? Imo just adds a question mark that you dont need.

all our guys should play, i cant comprehend a case where it makes sense to not on our particular roster
