I was just about to come here + start a new thread with the same title. Houston will be no pushover but is a bit hard to figure out. The road loss at A&M is nothing to be ashamed of since the Aggies are ranked. But BC doesn't seem to be very good this year and lost badly to SHU.

IIRC, Rutgers lost to Houston down there last season so should be motivated to have yet another payback game. Hopefully a good win against Houston will propel RU into the Top 25 (where Rutgers women's bball belongs).

I wish they would /could have made this a double header (like the old days)...men vs. the hall at noon followed by the women's game. They would have created a great crowd and opportunity for a lot of folks to see this team play...and impact future attendance (IMHO).

You really have to like the vibe this team has. I think the use of the bench players rotating in and out has a great deal to do with the constant pressure they put on the other teams. They are fun to watch.

FWIW We have 6 wins over top-100 teams. Houston has just 1.

Click on Steals instead of Steals per Game. RU has played at least one more game than any other team on the list, but golly that position certainly is nice to see.

The only disquieting fact about Houston is that Ron Hughey is the coach, so he has a bit of "inside" knowledge.

As to their record - a lot of close games - even if they won - with a lot of teams that are not very good.

As to their RPI, it may slide in the American. A bit hard to get the handle on the American teams this season - I wouldn't say that anyone besides UConn (duh) and USF are looking "strong", but after a very poor start a number of the teams have rebounded a bit. Of course, in conference play they will probably start knocking each other off, but that is one of the B1G's problems, historically, as well.
