Up way too late Part Deux Game thread

This team is the bad news bears. They are getting shat on by Clemson. In basketball.

It is so bad it is comical at this point.

One more thing. Sanders is not even on the floor. So if he badly sprained or broke it it shows that RU has no luck at all.

Sanders was having horrible game. It wouldn't make a difference at this point.

I'm just waiting for these announcers to say something horribly inappropriate because they don't realize the mics are still on

How much did RU spend to send these kids out to Vegas to embarrass themselves like this? They should be forced to play non conference games in driving distance. What a waste.

They aren't even trying.

Clemson's ball movement looks like the Golden State Warriors to ours. The ball moves crisply, the off ball movement is done with a purpose, and the ball isn't hitting the floor unnecessarily.

They are a much better coached team. Eddie coaches like he has Kentucky talent.

Alright that's enough now for me. For those that are going to see it out, good luck.

I never shut off a game early but enough of being a masochist for one morning. Simply disgraceful.

Let's just hope #3 isn't badly hurt.

Well that sucked...I'm sure they'd love to schedule the rubber match at the RAC next year.
I think Williams will shoot well one out of every ten games. Bishop will play in control one out of every 12 games. Jae Crowder Lite Freeman is by far the highest IQ player on the team. Ollie Bailey Lite Foreman is not really good at anything other than aggressiveness. We miss Doorsons body and 5 fouls. Goode ain't Jimmer. Hope Corey is OK. Gonna be another long year.

Ouch...Clemson came out and played in your grill defense. Game would have been different early if we finished around the rim and made FTs. Unfortunately I question if we can finish around the rim.

Defense has to improve..Foreman and others were abused.

Laurent and Sanders...we are down to 8.

Glad I didnt stay up for this one again. Read through this thread and want to know if people still think we are better than last year. Bottom line is the talent is not good and neither is coaching. Half of this team would not see one minute on a big 10 team. Lots of guys propped up as better than they actually are. We are looking at 6-7/7-6 OOC and 0-3 Big 10 wins. This may rival a Littlepage year. If the St Johns brutal collapse and the epic death struggle at home against a team that had lost 30 of its last 32 games maybe this tourney will

Another encouraging basketball thread to start your day. Wow! I get it that we don't have shooters and will struggle on offensive but to me defense is all about desire and motivation. Of course it needs to be properly taught and players must be held accountable. I am glad we decided to wait and do all of our shopping for reinforcements in the spring. I am sure watching another year of this will spark incremental interest. EJ ought to focus solely on JUCO's at this point because they have a different perspective in looking for immediate playing time. You don't have to be overconfident to look at this cast and feel I will get minutes here.

I have 4. We have adopted a bunch of rescues. Felix, Leo, Baxter and Marcus Aurelius, the Victory Cat.

I wouldn't get anymore! But if I did I'd get 2 and name them Thor and Loki

Patrick

Loki and Thor were our fraternity's dog names!!!!

The boards aren't specifically for games. And practice is a major part of winning games.

Cali - you misunderstood
I am taking shots at the team's perfoemances and coaching, NOT the posters on this board.

The fact that posters have to resort to comedic posts and posts about way OT things during games shows how BAD the programs are.

At least the board maintains a sense of humor - have to, or you either go nuts, or quit and stop reading/posting!

Eddie pretty much stated that this is what he's doing this year - sign 1 player in early signing period and then looking at JUCOs, Graduate Transfers, etc. in the Spring for the remaining 3 open 'ships. Only problem with that plan is that he hasn't actually convinced anyone to sign in the early signing period so it's even worse than that.

I know the landscape is littered with more JUCO that did not work out rather than those that did, and ideally I would not be advocating this, but think about it, how many HS or Prep kids with other P5 options are going to sign up for this? Takes a special kid or one that has issues that make others back off. JUCOs produces a lot of "story" kids but like other recruiting avenues you need to work relationships and find people whose evaluations you can trust. Wasn't Tom Savage a JUCO? Didn't Marquette under Crean and Williams live off JUCOs? Iowa State is another school that I believe has done well emphasizing two year guys. A transfer is OK but not alot of them if they need to sit out. While some believe this is year 3 of 7 for EJ his rope is two years shorter with me and I think if this is another year like last year, it will be more difficult for me to believe he has the chops to get this turned around.

Another moral victory!!!! Lost by under 20 to an ACC team. Want to see losses within 10 this year though. Another question, who wins more games this year ... Football or Men's Basketball?

daniels is eddie's laviano - leaves him in despite his terrible play and bad decisions
The sad reality is that Daniels is one of the very few players that can score and the team has to take the good with the bad ball handling.Once again I have to say this squad is composed of far too many complementary type players who should not be on a Power 5 Basketball team .

I would also encourage some players to transfer to open up more scholarships.
We have enough scholarships to give out. We need people to stay to get some stability in this program, build chemistry, and mature as players. By the end of this year I'd like to see us as #10, 11 or 12 in the B1G to show progress.

we don't need more scholarships since we can't seem to fill the ones we have...at least not with D1 players anyway

I did not see the game last night, but stat line says Lewis was 3-3 for 6 points. Nothing to write home about, but 6 points is his season high so far...those who watched...did we see any signs of improvement from him? His slow start is certainly troubling

you can't build a program without JUCOs if you keep getting one B1G level incoming freshman per year. We had Sanders this year and so far no one for next year.

Saw this quote from Jordan. I think it was accurate and shows what playing in your face D can do.

, we were a little bit spooked by their denials and their playing in the passing lane. Our offense got moved out further and further, and we lost some confidence there. We have to get that back.”
