We are sill moving on up. We moved up 12 spots in Kenpom after today's win to # 90 from # 102. We are gaining more & more respect. I think when Coach Pikiell was hired we were like # 273. It is amazing how we have improved in not even a year and a half.

Sorry but at 10-3 with losses to MSU and FSU we should be higher but I guess our cupcakes were extra yummy which hurts
I agree but we are still moving up. I think we can still move up many more places by the end of the season. This is sure better than being # 273.This is an exciting time to be a RU fan.

That he has made such a difference so quickly is so pleasurable to watch. Just watching the team play for a few minutes is enough to see the difference between regimes.

We have ditched the pathetic coaching of Eddie,,,,,,,who leeched off his alma mater... did absolutely NOTHING to advance Rutgers basketball. He collected a paycheck and basically did NOTHING. Case closed.

I feel we should be right up with St. John's. We will get there if we play hard in each & every game and we don't look ahead. One game at a time.
Looking now at St. John's....they are actually (statisticly) playing very good defense. they are rated #14 in the country in adjusted defensive efficiency. they turnover oppoenents on 26.8% of possessions #3 and effective Fg% allowed is 44.3% #21. That overcomes bad defensive rebounding 291st and fouling 259th in FTA/FGA.
They are also 3rd in the country in defensive block percentage. They block 20.8% of opponents shot attempts.
Wow we are 17th at 16.3%. I don't think of us as a team with shot blockers, but i guess we are. SOS has some to do with it.

I always think altering shots is more important than blocking them (although one is an indicator of the other).
Blocked shots often go out of bounds, giving the ball back to the shooter's team. Whereas an altered shot will likely miss, and the defending team will likely get the rebound.
That said, blocked shots are great for inciting the home crowd.

A third of our blocked shots have come from guards, too - they've done a good job getting up and swiping at the ball. Geo's got 8 and Mike's got 7.
6'3''+ guards are nice. Not simplifying things.....past coaches went with higher rankings and ended up with guys with skills that were short and had warts. Pikiell goes with 6'3''+ guard who isn't an athletic freak and won't impress you in highlight films.
