I really don't care about the investigation . The result will not change the fact that Flood is a crappy coach and leader of this program .
He is not someone I want representing Rutgers in any capacity, regardless of this investigation .

Well, I agree about not wanting Dud here, but nonetheless the investigation could play a role in all of this.

...and in typical Rutgers fashion the results of the report ( if condemning flood) will probably be released / delayed to the worst possible time in regards to a shrinking coaching candidate pool and securing our committed recruits for LOI Day

We can just follow the blueprint on how we hired Eddie Jordan. A no leverage hire followed by 5-10 year apathy grace period. It would go right along with Barchi's timeline and the B10 money flow. We could be the only P5 team where the women's bball coach makes more than the head football coach.

I care if more academic impropriety is revealed in addition to the Barnwell Dance Appreciation grade incident. If it's about drug tests failed and team discpline then "meh". I mean I still think he nees to go ASAP but more because he compromised the academic integrity of the university in addition to being an awful athletic coach.

I agree with this thought, but to the OP's point, the major reason to fire Flood in my mind is - we open at Washington next year, and another coach would give us a better opportunity to go 1-0.

I care how it's handled/released.

First, if there's something there that can get him fired for cause, great, do it. If not, then they shouldn't try to weasel their way to finding some justification to fire him for cause. I'd respect the administration a lot more (and I think it would send a much better message for the future of the program) if they just came out and said: "Your results on the field are poor, and this program strives for better." (This approach would also save us a potential legal battle if he contests a "for cause firing").

Second, if they're going to do it, get it done before signing day. Be fair to the recruits. Some of them may be committed to the school regardless, others may just be committed to him (for reasons beyond my comprehension). But, don't entice them to sign then pull the rug out from under their feet right after the ink dries. Do it the right way.

Don't even get me started about the thoughts of a Flood-coached team and next September's schedule.
