He beat our Normandia twice or 3 times inhis senior year by 1 or 2 Points. Good for him. I️ am rooting for him!

Cassar with a subpar effort against Garrett Hoffman of Bucknell today. A little bit lax/sloppy on counters early and fell behind. Came back well in third period but dropped match 11-8. He had a lot of trouble from the bottom position.

Yianni D beats Nick Lee 12-7 at the Bearcat Open to make the Finals.

Scott Parker beats Kaid Brock at the buzzer

Yianni is ridiculously good. Not an unexpected result at this point.

Parker winning is something of an upset but not a shocking one. He's a tough kid.

Cassar's troubles yesterday may have been weight related. He sure looked washed out on the mat, so it makes sense.

If he doesn't step it up hard to argue him starting over #4 guy in the nation... this is why Goodale isn't so high on wrestle offs bc some guys figure out other tendencies in the room

Maybe Cassar has a VERY slim Collegiate/Folkstyle resume, and he is a bit overated because he's at PSU?
More likely he's overrated because he's from NJ. It's a JOKE, people. I'm just messing with you.

PSU fans have been hearing about Cassar ever since he won Junior Nationals in 2015. He got injured, and rumors of his comeback have been kicked around ever since. It almost became legendary. Now he's back wrestling after a long hiatus. Some guys come back better than ever, some never get back to where they were.

PSU has a couple of months and some good tournaments to figure out what they're going to do between him and Cutch. Those decisions are above our pay grade, but most of us have faith in the process.

Next up for the RU wrestlers is the Army Invitational this coming Saturday at 9:30am. I haven't seen what other teams will be there, I'll keep looking.

" It slated as a seven-team tournament with Binghamton, Bloomsburg, UT-Chattanooga, Lock Haven, Maryland and Rutgers all coming to Christl Arena for the event."

Why no J. Van Brill at 165, and is Lewis by passing due to World U23?

Thanks. Will have to pass, then. Will probably switch to BTN late December, maybe earlier depending if they will carry the Southern Scuffle and Beast of the East or not.

Yes, agree Abro, I dont like tracks set up of every event as a Pay per view(at least not at the price points I have seen).

Flo always covers both the Beast of the East(Dec 16,17) and the Southern Scuffle which is Jan 1 and 2nd.

Does JVB wrestle against Iowa?
I think I would rest him until the Midlands if his high ankle sprain is bad.
Iowa is important to us on the board, but a healthy JVB in march is what we want.

I'd argue the Iowa match could be the most important dual in Rutgers wrestling history if they win. The negative association with a loss would be relatively minor, but a win would be huge for the program. I think you have to go all in.

I'd agree with this. They should weigh in two at 165 and see how the match goes

With Ashnault's injury, 165 and 174 are the keys to that match. Critical. And now we have JVB injured, and struggling at 174.

Other key is getting a quick start with bonus points from 125 and 133.
