RU commit Malcolm Robinson is upset in the quarters by 19th ranked Stickly 5-2. Robinson looked very passive , letting the taller Stickley shoot at will, getting to his legs with ease. Robsinsons ranking will be dropping after this. Not a good look.
Too be honest he hasn’t looked good in months. Hope he battles back for 3rd.

agree. Talent here but has not been overly impressive past several months. Was hoping we were getting a bonafide stud here but doesn’t look like it

Robinson has Jack Davis (Wyoming Seminary, PA) next in wrestle backs. This will be a good test.

Robinson finishes in 8th place. Blair has about 6 other guys in the finals, includind the first 3 weight classes. Starts at 6pm I think, on Flo.

Think we were more caught up from him being from Blair.. not a blue chipper like some of the past Blair wrestlers... hope I'm wrong

Guys, Malcolm was out with a concussion earlier this year. Today, as the 2 seed, he lost to the eventual champ in the quarters, then the 4 seed in cons and the 3 seed for 7th/8th. He’ll be just fine.

141 coming up should be good. # 3 Kolodzik (Blair) vs #6 Chisko

165 last bout of the night will be:
#8 McFadden (DePaul) vs # SChleifer (Mendham)

They started at 174, now at 285, Va Tech rolling

edit- at 125 Princeton unranked Gomez (2x NY champ) upset #15 VT frosh Norstrem 12-6. Terrific bout with scrambles and near pins.

Kolodzik is still at 141? For some reason I thought he bumped up to 49.

149 Kolodzik crushing some Va Tech wrestler named Grammes. Lost connection for 3 minutes, typical Flo, so no idea why Chisko not wrestling.

165- McFadden Tech Falls Schleifer. He's off to a great start this year.

At the Beast of the East Tourny today, RU commit, Malcolm Robinson (Blair) 138, is the top seed.
#2 seed is Quinn Kinner, Kingsway NJ committed to Ohio St.
#3 seed is Jared Papcsy, Bethlehem Catholic, committed to Duke
#4 seed is Marshal Keller, Christianburg, Va, committed to Princeton.

Will be interesting to see if Robinson can get things turned around. His ranking has dropped to #14 from 5 according to Flo.

The #13 seed Imran Heard that is wrestling #4 seed Keller next is a Rutgers verbal commit. Don't think he signed a LOI in the early signing period.

Robinson advances to the Semis with an 8-2 win.

At Reno, Aguilar goes for the title tonight against 3 seed Justin Pacheco of Pomona.

Watched Nic A's match. Seemed very good on feet/ Looked decent on top and was about to get ridden on bottom (Was cut with 40 seconds left). Excited to see what he can do at RU.

I have only seen him in one match.,

"Lips Manus,Would have been nice to see our other recruits wrestle at the beast of the east.

Hard to tell how good are recruits are as few wrestle a national schedule. Other than Robinson, our Jersey recruits don't even go to the Beast.

1-Malcolm Robinson, Blair dec. 9-Marco Regalbuto, Brecksville, 5-2

In the Semi's :

138

1-Malcolm Robinson, Blair vs. 4-Marshall Keller, Christiansburg
2-Quinn Kinner, Kingsway vs. 3-Jarred Papcsy, Bethlehem Catholic

Keller is now ranked ahead of Robinson in the latest Intermat rankings, Keller 8, Robinson 14.

There is at least 1, mostly 2, NJ wrestlers still alive in each weight class. Blair & Bergen Catholic ranked in top 5 in the country in most ranking services w Blair number 1 in every one.

JoJo Aragona who was 2nd at N.J. states last year lost to Kinner 10-4 in quarters earlier today just beat Robinson 7-1 in wrestlebacks.
