Check your math in the RU vs Org State match. You have Hwt getting teched, but also gave RU a team point.
Also, be shocked if Delvecchio loses(kid steps up in big matches), and think Theo wins at home. Looking at a 23 11 RU victory!!

I have to look at the matchups for each weight bout but I expect RU to sweep the deals as a team this weekend. Purdue will be closer than Oregon State.

U guys got it pretty close...
I got RU crushing both team...handily..
I got both teams getting 6 at 285 against us so that makes my score closer. But I don't think either dual will be in jeopardy.

I wonder if Correnti can steal a match at 197 vs Oregon State. He has been wrestling more aggressively of late and I bet he could pick someone off.

Ah ok makes sense but Let's give Gross a little more credit. He did just win the match against Illinois for all the marbles, even though it was against a backup, it has to be a confidence boost. The Oregon st hwt is solid but neither (oregon st; purdue) hwt are elite.

That would be huge for Correnti's confidence... my observations are the same

Palmer is probably a slight favorite over DelVecchio on paper but I'd give the edge to Del here with home mat advantage and a long flight for the Beavers. Oregon State will be big favorites at 197 and 285 and more competitive then many might expect at a lot of other weights but overall, Rutgers is definitely the favorite.

I think Rutgers matches up better against Purdue. Knights should definitely take that match as well.

Paetzell has 2 very interesting opponents. Both tough but winnable. It'll be a good test for the true freshman this weekend.

I'm interested if JVB can win one back against Purdue's Griffin.
Paetzell needs to win these two matches. Paetzell's win against the Illinois kid looks more impressive now that the Illinois kid took out the 12th ranked Ohio State Rodrigues.
Praying Paetzell has a good season/postseason so theres no question marks later if pulling his RS was the right thing to do.

More importantly Correnti's conditioning in the 3rd period looked much better in his last 2 matches.
I guess Coach G knew what he was doing after all putting him there and letting him go through adversity til his confidence and conditioning grew.

I think in the Oregon Stste match last year Girsldo majored Pslmer 13-4 or something like that. Check it out. I know we beat Griego too. Ash beat his kid, Hathaway

I think Scotty beats Palmer. Vanbrill needs a good weekend as well. Scott's is more battle tested.

Griego and Crawford both move up this year to 197 and 285 as Deshi is red shirting at 285

For the Purdue match Van Brill lost to Griffin 5-1 at Midlands at 157 and Pagano beat Morrissey of Purdue 10-3 at 174. It will be interesting to see if he wrestles instead of Phil B.

Just a thought, wonder if Purdue will wrestle Gavin Murray at 157?

1. It saves seed for Alex Griffin since he already has a win over Van Brill.
2. Gavin Murray is a Jersey guy and family may be at match.
3. There is a High School match before the Rutgers/Purdue match and Murray's HS is one of the teams wrestling.

How do you think Paetzall will match up this weekend? He has two challenging but winnable matches this weekend and could really use the boost to possibly break into the Top 33 for the next Coaches Poll.

Pagano and Phil B wrestle very much alike so I would expect Phil to get both matches this weekend as would Theo and then the coaches could change up next week on the road with Giraldo and Pagano.

Hope you are wrong and Pagano gets one of the matches this weekend. Would be nice to get a home match in front of the home crowd.

I expect him to be in both matches and think they will be 1-2 point matches that I expect him to come out on top of.

As for today I predict that JVB finds a way to avenge his loss to Alex Griffin in Midlands. I'm expecting another blowout win today for RU as on paper we seem to match up well with Purdue.

While I tend to agree, I'm cautious and fear a slight let down given a Sunday morning match. Paetzal and Scott D still have tough matches and of course Van Brill has no cakewalk so this is no guarantee to be a blowout like Friday. Also want to see if Correnti can keep the momentum as his match Friday could easily have gone the opposite way.

With that said we should still have this won by 197.
