Looks like some Redshirts/Back-ups will be wrestling 1/16/2016 in Millersville PA. Here is what I could find.

Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Open 125 Luis Gonzalez (College)
Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Open 133 Peter Lipari (College)
Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Open 133 Sam Cali (College)
Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Open 157 John Vanbrill (RS Fr)
Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Open 157 Dylan Painton (RS So)
Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Open 157 Kenneth Theobold (RS Jr)
Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Open 165 Will Scott (College)
Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Open 165 Jordan Pagano (RS Fr)
Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Open 197 Kyle Kremiller (College)

Maybe I am looking too much into it but interesting that Ken Theobold up at 157.

Theo for 157 makes sense if Lewis bumps up to 165 when Perrotti graduates this year.
Figuring out what will happen with the Giraldo/Ashnault/DelVecchio/Dip situation is a bit much, you would think DelVecchio would stay at 133 given his frame, Ash can go up to 149, but I would think he stays at 141 his whole career, and Giraldo has the frame to go up one or two weight classes.
125 - McCabe
133 - ?
141 - ?
149 - ?
157 - Theo
165 - Lewis
174 - Buck
184 - Gravina
197 - Krem
285 - Normandia

Too early though on all accounts.

Is there a JUCO heavyweight out there who wants to step in and start for a Top Ten program right away? We need another Richie Lewis with an additional 80-100 pounds on his frame. $$$$

Yeah, that lower weight situation is going too be very tough. In a perfect world,I would think Giraldo bumping up too 149,Ash a 141,DelVecchio at 133 and McCabe at 125 again. That leaves Dippery.I think Gravina should go too heavyweight.Sounds crazy, but apparently he has no problem putting on weight. If he could get to a solid 210 or 215,by next year,he might be a top 10 .Normandia is too small. He's either gonna make the cut too 197 or have real rough time at heavyweight.I also think Kremiller can be a solid heavyweight.I don;t think 230 lbs by next year is too much for him.Remember,we still got Correnti,Mulligan,Donner and Grello coming in( probably going too all redshirt)I wouldn't be surprised if Donnie or Scott make Mulligan wrestle heavy the first year.

You think Gravina should go to HWY? I can see him growing to 197, but HWY is way out there.
I don't see why not? He would be a very good athletic heavyweight. He reminds me alot of DJ Russo, but much grittier and tougher. He has jumped up 2or 3 weight classes. He just needs too put on a solid 30-40 lbs over the next two years. Alot of Italian food and weight lifting will do that for you, that's for sure..lol.

If the kid was a frosh with a redshirt year available, I could see it (like we may possible try to get Correnti to become a HWY if we don't have options).

Instead you're taking a guy that's productive at his current weight and trying to force on 50-60 pounds to make him even slightly competitive at the weight without the time to get used to the weight. That's an uncomfortable gain for somebody who you want to still be athletic at such a weight.

Yeah, I agree that heavyweight and 197 are just too much for Gravina. I think he's perfect for right where he's at, 184. I just hope his shoulder can recover and withstand the rigor of wrestling. A shoulder injury is a tough one to come back from.

this is one of the weaker open tournaments I think. Maybe he just didn't think it was big deal to cut down. No Delvechio???

I don't see Lewis moving up to 165. Doesn't really have the frame for it. But he does have a redshirt available, so if Theo is looking at 157 for next year Lewis can take his redshirt. That would probably be the best thing for the team if Theo can compete at 157.

This is the internet ..right? Wishful, but unrealistic thinking runs rampant, lol. In reality,It would be a huge jump for him,but not that difficult. From 184lbs,to heavy is 16lbs,where the heck are you getting a 50-60 lb weight gain? He does not look like he is struggling too stay at 184lbs.If he put on a solid 20lbs by next year ( which is easily attainable),he could roll around 205-210.Kurt Angle was 205 when he wrestled Sylvester Terkay and Jon Llwellyn.Gravina is athletic like that.Plus,he is so slick,he could score so many take downs off these beefy heavyweights. The strength and shoulder are an issue, but with weight gain comes strength.Let him wrestle 197 next year, redshirt Mulligan, let Correnti wrestle 197lbs,Grello would redshirt.Gravina's senior year he could be around 225-230,Correnti will redshirt,Mulligan moves too 197lbs while Corenti beefs a little,Grello moves too 174,and by that time Rivera from Brick comes in.

well you can wish in one hand and crap in the other...see what fills up first!!! (my fav. Burgess Meredith line) But seriously, most likely thing will be Gravina growing into 184

In a perfect world,Gravina is not going heavyweight. It was wishful thinking on my part. Most likely will be a strong 197lber by senior year.Nice quote by the way.My personal favorites are "an empty barrel, makes the most noise" and "no good deed goes unpunished".

Those are good ones also..hehe....although I don't see Gravina leaving 184 unless he goes all Heflin/Realbuto on us...

Luis Gonzalez and Ken Theobold both in the finals. Half the guys for RU that registered didn't go.

Gonzalez wins 6-2 over Shoap of Drexel

Theobold lost 13-5 to Richard Krop who graduated from Princeton last season.
