All, I want you to realize that you are alienating a large potential fan base - people like me. I am a Penn State graduate (1985-if my username didn't make that obvious). However, I am also a Jersey native, and continue to make my home in NJ. I am a Rutgers football season ticket holder, and also a regular attendee at RU wrestling matches. In other words, unless RU is competing against PSU, I am an RU fan. There are probably many. many more people just like me - people who would be in RUs corner as long as it isn't against PSU. However, the vile, unjust, disgusting accusations and inferences by some of the RU posters on this board are turning off A LOT of those people, and are starting to make me question whether or not I should be subsidizing RU athletics to the tune of hundreds of dollars per year.
Sandusky was a monster; no Penn Stater defends what he did. Stop insinuating otherwise. Stop insulting a great University and untold thousands of people who had absolutely nothing to do with any of that disgrace - and that includes the football program. The players, etc. had nothing to do with Sandusky. This is a football board - post about football.
This almost psychotic infatuation with a very sad series of events is very off-putting to people who might otherwise support RU - Jersey guys and gals that would like to see RU succeed even though they went elsewhere for college. Guys like me - proud NJers that want RU to be a Big Ten contenders - but are tired of their alma mater being unfairly attacked.
I hope you take the substance of this post in the spirit in which it was intended
