Program issues start with recruting and player renention …..

Criminal that we had and lost Jacob Young, Cam Spencer, Johnson, Cliff...even Mulcahy to lesser extent. At least this COVID 5th year stuff is ending. But unfortunately it's been replaced with NIL. Honestly if I didn't live in such a cold climate in winter I would be tempted to stop watching. College basketball is a shell of what it used to be.
I mean Jacob Young and Cam Spencer come in as transfers, particularly in cam’s case as a one-year rental, hard to call that criminal. Johnson was obviously a unique circumstance.

I think we didn’t start to see any significant attrition until the last two seasons (Cliff, Spencer, Mulcahy, Mag etc), and imo it’s less that Rutgers has been uniquely impacted by transfers and more that pike has been completely ineffective in leveraging the transfer portal to find adequate replacements

Team Beats Players. . . .and Thoughts of Jay Wright

There is a thread on FB page and an article saying we are -$70 million. I know revenues are going to be increasing. Don't really know what a projected 2025 # should look like.

I do think me as a season ticket holder is going to be asked to chip in at least $500 per seat on top of what I already pay.
If they ask that much, they will be losing quite a few season ticket holders. Hopefully it's a bit more gradual or nuanced than that.

Isn't it offset by the increase in money coming from the league? It's probably a combo of all of those factors.

So the solution is "veteran" JWill and Davis as our leaders next year?
That's the experienced backcourt we want?

All this hemming and hawing over "seniors that grew up with the program" is false.

Nobody (coaches or fans) want bad players to stick around until they are seniors. Just to have a "team" that grew up together.

Did UConn fans complain about Spencer since he was a "mercenary"?
I don't have a problem with them as rotation players. Rather have (2025-26) JaMike and JWill over Derkack and Acuff. That's just me.

Can we be more than average with those 2 offensively playing more than 15 MPG, we both know the answer.

Basketball Rutgers Basketball suffers 81-74 loss to No. 8 Michigan State at MSG

Not really answering my question. Most of those points were crazy impressive jumpers - that’s what he does.

But ovviousky - not always gonna be on when that’s your game (like today) - which is why I ask..what else is he really good at??
Scoring the ball at will. What else is Kevin Durant good at? He seems to be doing ok

RU Deficit

Nothing wrong with this and it's what should be happening. Good move. But not who I was inferring.

I just find it interesting the same agency can do this for every Giant and Jet game (16 regular season and 4 preseason) with a more higher profile target, more people in attendance (~2x) but equal to or less over all manpower than a Rutgers game.

Of course safety is paramount, as it should always be, but to say Rutgers is more high profile than the above-mentioned MetLife, the US Tennis Open, NYE in Times Square, the NYC Marathon or even the equivalent is something.
The first bomb-maker of the World Trade Center (1993) was an engineer student from Rutgers. A university is the perfect recruiting ground for young and easily influenced minds, plus a softer target to hit than bigger events. The attack would still receive intense media coverage because of the location when compared to middle America. Bottom line, an attack anywhere would be terrible and sickening for any American.
