Sit Dylan

Agree he needs to rest it for a couple of weeks. Saw him after the game and he needed help from a couple people (including his dad) to the bus. Very hobbled. Guessing he misses the next 4 games or so.
Nobody saw him limping across the foul line to talk to another player.? and that was early after he went in.
Saying he practiced fine and was good to go..my ass. Regardless of where it came from. But I trust little coming from the bench's mouth anymore.

Unfortunately, and I hope I am wrong, but already out of the NCAAs in January, I do fear him pulling a Mag and just saving it for next year's season (but in NBA). I do wonder if his draft stock is dropping some though. I would be a little concerned about his health. He does have asthma too I believe.

NIL killed college hoops its now professional hoops

You do know we have one of the largest living alumni bases in the USA.. If thst number only contributed a couple of hundred each
"We reached and surpassed a $250 million fundraising goal because of a surge in new givers: more than 7,500 of our 34,000 donors in fiscal year 2024 were first-time donors." - Jonathan Holloway in Rutgers' 2024 Annual Financial Report

Rutgers has plenty of donors. They choose to donate to academics, not athletics. Given the state of the athletic department, who can blame them.

This situation is unlikely to change. Rutgers sports fans must accept it even when they don't like it.

Derkack needs to get benched

I'll admit, I have made this a little bit too much of a personal crusade. I may need to take a mental health break from this thread. No offense intended, and just having a little message board fun. Hope none of the Mets fans are on here. I went on a crusade 2 years ago defending Vogelbach. It wasn't as much as I thought Vogelbach was a good player, it was Mets fans directing their ire as if Vogelbach was THE problem with the team sucking.

Hopefully, this is a turning point for Derkack. I like to root for underdogs, like Vogelbach. But one great game does not make a great, or even a good player in the B1G.

In JD's defense, he did make a shitty bounce pass that was intercepted by MSU, so maybe he realized that was a weakness and tried to do it all himself. 😜

EDIT-oh, and I tried to include 26 gifs of suck it trebek, but this site limits 20 gifs per post. dammit. 😂
We all bleed RED here. At least I hope so. I know there are some SHU fans that love to crap on us. I just want RU to Win. A season that was full of promise has turned into a bag of Sh*t! We don't play like a team and that's been a huge problem. Everyone on this team needs to box out when you are in and go get F'ing rebounds. The turnovers are maddening. It was a great night to get dinner at Keens. The game not so fun.

Hate to say it, but…

Regardless of the outcome today, you need to think bigger. One game a year at MSG (conference or not) is a good thing for the school and program for both perception and growth.
perception and growth happens by winning and the program is now headed to 3 years without winning...a game on cbs is no different than next weeks game vs Michigan at the rac on Fox 5

sure its great for the fans that never get to go to the rac so it helps there but conference game..no....ooc game yes

Pikell Just Sucks

Uh..what was his record last year and did he make the tourny either of his last two? Where's all this success your talking about,? 1 NCAA win?
Now we're comparing him to those three coaches? Really?
He saying those guys quit. He’s not comparing them. If you were to compare them though bringing Rutgers from where they were relatively to what they became and the other schools from what they were to what they became pike actually compares quite well

Men’s Basketball Plays No. 8/8 Michigan State at Madison Square Garden

I’m in the minority but I think the game at MSG is incredible and well worth it.

All bars and trains around the garden flooded with Scarlet. 16k in attendance in the worlds most famous arena being called by three legends on freaking CBS weekend game. I’m a season ticket holder forever and I’d gladly give up the home game to keep doing that. It’s so much more big time I’m sorry.

Hate to say it, but…

It’s forgotten and just another loss. The jollies of a game at the Garden are worthless. The irony of this case being a show case was such a disaster. Dylan plays 14 minutes and Ace has arguably his worst game. Despite all this we lost by 7. It’s a win at the RAC!
Or, Derkack plays his normal game at the RAC and we lose by 25

Derkack needs to get benched

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

This reminds of the scene in Money Ball where the A's are on a losing streak and Giambi is dancing on the table to "We got the funk, gotta have that funk". Billy Bean walks in and takes the bat to the stereo and says Is Losing fun? Then why are you having fun?

Reality is DH couldn't play at 100%. MSU made some adjustments in the 2nd half and looked to double Ace whenever he touched the ball. Derkack is still a selfish player. There were a couple balls that he could have rebounded but instead chose to try to break out looking to be the outlet on a fast break. Selfish

Pikell Just Sucks

Pike is an old school coach trying to adapt to new school basketball. Some coaches couldn’t handle that - jay wright, Tony Bennett, Jim Laranaga…some coaches never changed.

Others - like pike - are trying to adapt but failed. So go back you your roots and see if the success comes back.
