100% agree. When you think of all the greats in fielding, pitching, hitting for average and power it's insane there haven't been more. To take it a step further, those that should be in the HOF but didn't play nice with the press is another piece of bullspit.

It’s wrong. Thanks for bringing up the MVC. They are the poster child this year for the flaws in the system. Poor Drake. They are 17-2. What else do they have to do to get in the conversation? Lunardi, after all, doesn’t even have them in his next 4 out. A once would have been clear contender for at large with a respectable RPI in the 30s, Drake is banished with a NET in the 60s which is not within striking range for a MVC team.

Tell me though - what else could they have done to get in the conversation? BAC in past years talks about mid-major frauds but this year’s Drake isn’t one of them. They scheduled 3 major conference games and won all of them - all on neutral floors. They beat Vandy (currently projected in the field) by double digits. It’s not their fault KState and Miami stink, but look, they beat Miami by double digits and while the KState game was a nail biter, it’s not like KState hasn’t played some good teams close. They only lost at Kansas by 10.

By all counts, Drake should at least be in the conversation if they keep winning.

I do hope he finds a program he feels comfortable with and stays injury free, but once he left RU the only thing I wish for him is remaining injury free and using his academic opportunities football gives him to build a good life after his college days are over.
As for how successful his role with the program he chooses to play for is something their fans can hope, I just hope it's injury free and uses the academic opportunity playing college football gives him to earn his degree

The GRAND IF: If we beat MSU, that'll mean we've won 3 of 4 last B1G GAMES: W over UCLA, Nebby, MSU. L to PSU on road. These four outcomes, I'd guess (all dependent on stunner on Sat) will have moved the needle a bit in our direction--though I know how much more is needed. yes?

What is the real number? I like to see the math. Can’t wait for the reasons why a W is really a L explanations or why the team wasn’t really ranked.

There's potential for funky math with these kinds of data to try to game the USNWR rankings. Happens everywhere. At RU, applicants can check 1,2 or 3 boxes for schools of choice. If an applicant gets into just 1, does that count as 2 rejections ? Or is the 78K # and low acceptance rate based on # of unique applicants getting accepted to at least 1 school?

I saw that Rutgers has alternates at 125, 141, 165, 197, and HWT. Peterson has to go at 125 and maybe have Smith go on Sunday, although bonus points may be critical. Don't throw an undersized Smith against Lilledahl. It may not matter at 141, but we need Olivieri on Sunday. Whoever gets fed to Mesenbrink will be a tech fall or pin, but I'd rather see Barbosa fresh on Sunday. If Poz's chances are that bad, send Casale out and save Poz for one he could win on Sunday. I don't see this as dodging as much as strategic. Yara-Slav at least has a chance on Sunday, and Friday, not so much.

I generally agree; the real crime was scheduling Kennesaw State. That game was a losing scenario any way you slice it. Definitely an edge to MSU to play us at Garden. I remember MSU came to RAC a few years ago and we won by like 20. Unlikely to see that at Garden. In any event, the whole season has so far proven a disaster. Harper may not even play on Saturday or best case scenario goes out there hurt or sick once again. Probably going to be bloodbath. Even if Ace scores 40 we still get wrecked. Acuff, Hayes, Martini, JWill, JMike, Derkack, Ogbole are just really out of their league it seems.
