Probably Anthony DavisI said all-around talent, but ok, you got me. Yes Wemby would have been taken ahead of Flagg.
Name another.
You also made an earlier point that he was a better HC than many realized. And I agree on both points.Nobody is hiring Fllod to be an OC. He has never called plays in his life.
He's a better player than those two, but he’s still not a Big 10 caliber player. He’d struggle mightily against the conference slate.Except it never happened.
Did JMike and Derkack light up Merrimack, Monmouth, St. Peter’s? Asking for a friend?
I give the team credit for that win (tough environment vs. a desperate Arkansas squad at the time) though Arkansas was in absolute disarray at the time from the Petrino motorcycle fiasco.Yup we beat Arkansas in Fayetteville. Although John L. Smith was coaching so give it an asterisk.
Don’t agree. Pike’s time has passed! This team next year will struggle. He is a poor game day coach and a worse evaluator of talent. Wish I was wrong but the writing is on the wall.Let me first caveat that I hope this post ages poorly...
That being said, this season is actually worse than most people realize in that in addition to watching a terrible team take the court, we're also watching Pike's career die. I had posted before the season even began that this was going to be the most important season of Pike's career - not just because he had a mega-hyped team with 3 future lottery picks, but because whether he wanted to admit it or not his career would be banking on the outcome.
If things went the way we thought, Pike would finally have that one thing he could lean on to elevate the program year in and year out - namely he could win with one and dones and move players into the NBA as high draft picks. If he does that, I truly believe the flood gates open and we start to be in conversation with a higher caliber recruit each year.
I had feared though if things didn't work out (and there was some concern before the season due to roster construction and the fact that Rutgers is gonna Rutgers), that this would be the end of Pike and the end of the Pike era at Rutgers. There's just no way any top-level recruit comes here - even with connections - after this debacle. It's just too easy for any other coach to look at a recruit and say, "You don't want to go to Rutgers. You'll be miserable. You won't win and you won't develop. Hell, Pike couldn't even win with two lottery picks, and honestly they were lottery picks before they even got to Pike. You could argue he actually stunted their growth."
And the sad part is that they wouldn't be wrong. I bet you RHS is thinking what could've been if Dylan went to Duke.
I like Pike. He's a good dude, but he blew it and he probably knows that. He's too loyal. He too trustworthy. There's no accountability. Hell, B Knight has been in charge of the offense for how many seasons and it's consistently been one of the worst in D1. No chance he'd be running the O if I were coach.
There's no shot that the younger Dercack comes here or any high-ranking recruit for that matter moving forward. Pike will revert back to what he knows. We'll have a lower/middle-of-the-pack team that is gritty and fun to root for, but I don't know if that's enough in this new era. I'd expect Pike to stick around a few more seasons before heading off into the sunset.
Early this year it was explained to me.. and seeing him listed as Texas' OC confirmed that rather well. But people still insist the OL coach part.. and his being hired by Bama and Texas indicate that is true...You can start. By understanding he was CO OC in title only. He’s the OC at Texas as well. You think he’s calling plays? He’s an excellent OL coach and better HC than people give him credit for. He will be a HC again and he will be a successful one. He wasn’t ready to run a B1G program when given the job.
I am not really buying anything new until I am more certain that the selloff is done.Trade……unless they can figure out how to turn an actual profit
But trade for now.
Also, for all the flak Schiano takes about beating teams with winning records, Flood's squads beat a grand total of 4 teams with winning records (2 in 2012, 2 in 2014) and were 6-22 vs bowl teams.Yeah, the wheels were falling off, and Fridge really propped up the offense, and when he left in 2015, the wheels were off.
I have about 2-3% of my portfolio in crypto. Most of it is in bitcoin and some in ethereum. No Altcoins. I also have a portion invested in 2X microstrategy ETF that I use mostly to sell calls. The 2X ETF isn't doin very well, but losses have been mitigated by call options. I am considering taking losses and offsetting them with some of the gains that I have banked in 2025.Very true. BTW, how much crypto are you invested in? Just BTC or some of the alts?
That sucksHate to break your eggs, but Owen Waffled and went to Ped State:

Rutgers won a share of the 1869 national championship in football, according to Parke Davis, a historian and Princeton football player. How many teams at Rutgers can you say that about ?
Very true. BTW, how much crypto are you invested in? Just BTC or some of the alts?It also depends on the premium currently given to the grayscale ETF.
