Poor NIL is the biggest reason for our disappointing season

FWIW...its both guys.

The coaching has not been good here and NIL could be better but honestly, hoops is running out of excuses.

We pay top 25 in the country level money
We have a top 10 home court advantage
We have a beautiful new practice facility
NIL might be average but you have a lot of tailwind to carry you here.

Poor NIL is the biggest reason for our disappointing season

Lets knock it down and build a cavernous arena like Seton Hall has so we can tarp the top rafters and it will be like any other gym in America.

Yeah that's what I want. Screw having one of the hardest gyms to plan at in all of America.
I love the RAC and hope it’s there for 50 more years.

With that said, it’s really not hard for our opponents to play there. Teams have been beating us there pretty easily the last few years.

If the premise is “getting talented players hurts the ability to win” then there is nothing further to discuss.

Ace and Dylan didn’t cause the famed defender Jamichael “The Glove” Davis to run around in circles and give up an open 3.
If Gavin had that play last year you would have said he needs to be cut immediately and never set foot on the floor ever again.
Will not argue your last point. 😀

We would be a much better basketball team right now if we never got Ace Bailey. I am very confident with that.

Actually it might have been Ace's fault Glove ran around circles and gave up the open 3

How about saying the roster has not provided the 3 point scoring need to win games or has not shown consistency in performance at both ends of the court.Pikiell is a nice guy who won't publicly criticize individual players so all you are going to get during interviews is deflecting what is happening on the court,The only thing that matters right now is a 10-10 record with many of the toughest games yet to be played with or without Harper.Changes in the coaching staff are a must happening for next season along with better choices from the transfer portal like Spencer and Yeboah.
How does that help? Saying a player is a bad shooter isn't going to encourage him to make more shots

In fact what you are saying has the opposite effect.

The rac is not even a top 50 home court basketball facility. It’s a dump. Is it a home court advantage. Sure because it’s a dump. Is it a place where someone comes in and says wow this place is nice I want to play here. Lolololol.

Keep asking the same group of fans to increase donations isn't the answer. The problem is a very small percentage of alumni support Rutgers University for academics or athletics.Getting anything done like financing facilities requires decades to happen and when it does happen, the cost is far higher.College athletics in the NJ/NYC Metropolitan area doesn't get the attention found in other parts of the USA.Professional sports dominate media attention and public attendance at athletic events. In the present circumstances the only way to achieve athletic success is to hire head coaches that consistently attract players that can excel against power conference competition.Stringer did that for a short time at Rutgers, Pitino is doing a terrific job at St.Johns and Hurley at UConn has won national championships.

What if the 2 players hurt the ability to get other players? What if those 2 players were brought in to be the best players and weren't really players that were great winning college basketball games.

What a bunch of useless babble from her:

"“There are themes that are already emerging,” she said. “People want someone who’s a good communicator. They want somebody who appreciates a multi-campus university."

Rutgers better hope Steven Fulop does not win the election for Governor:

"Mayor Baraka is 100% right, now is no time to cower to bullies. But let’s be clear - Rutgers as an institution has fostered a bully culture for a few years now. One that targets employees with institutional knowledge and memory, which does a disservice to the students. Look no further than the most recent additions to the Board as where the worst of NJ politics and higher education intertwine here. When I’m Governor of New Jersey, I will end the university’s bend toward corporate interests and machine favors, and I will nominate retired professors and staff to serve as members of the Board of Governors."
That is scary. That clown (whoever he is) would send us back to the Stone Age as a University. He is likely to scare off University Presidents who are considering applying as well. F us.

OT: Stock and Investment Talk

I have a $360 stop loss in place for GEV. Maybe I should turn that off and see what happens.
320-340s area has some support and the area it based for a couple months, whether it holds or not is a different story. 50DMA is at 350 as well. PE is fairly rich too around 90 so you'd expect some of that to come out.

I'm skeptical energy consumption will be so much less on this Chinese news. When it comes out from a more reliable source, I'd believe it.

To put it in budget terms:
Team X - $3m
Team Y - $1m

Team X has to spend $2m for their top 2 players
Team Y has to spend near $0 for their top 2 players.

Both teams have the same $1m to fill out the roster.

We are Team Y this year.
Getting $2m of players for nearly nothing(?)

So even if we a have a smaller overall budget than peers, our effective budget is equal (or even higher?) because we already got our top 2 players.
What if the 2 players hurt the ability to get other players? What if those 2 players were brought in to be the best players and weren't really players that were great winning college basketball games.

OT: NFL 2025 Playoff Games Thread

It really was night and day. Even Romo called out the Chiefs know Allen goes left on sneaks/push and yet Buffalo continued to do it without a ton of success. Plus why James Cook wasn't out there more in the 4th quarter makes no sense to me.
Because our owner hasn't come to terms with the fact that the team has hit it's ceiling under McDermott. If 13 seconds didn't convince him it's likely that nothing will. Maybe he's content with just getting close and repeatedly losing in excruciating fashion. Call it championship mettle, call it championship DNA, call it mental toughness. Whichever it is the team just lacks that thing that will take it over the top.

Agree totally about disagreeing and arguing. My point is maybe some of the complainers should put up something more other than constant criticism and complaints. Yes, that's a part of sports, but this thread is also about NIL, and look at the guy below. If NIL is the problem, how do we fix the problem if people do not give? The guy below seems to think that is the job of "whales." Every bit helps.
Giving $50-100 to the Rutgers NIL collective may make people feel good, but it's not actually doing much of anything.

Landing a single big donation is more valuable than thousands of small fan contributions. The school/collective should spend minimal time soliciting small donations, and focus entirely on large donations.

NIL s about sponsorship, not crowdfunding.
